Caleb Williams preferred walk-on

Omg. It’s a different point of view. Am I not allowed to have an opinion without you crying to the mod about me having an opposing opinion?

Having PWOs in the linebacker room does nothing but promote good competition. Don’t take things so personally
Differing opinions are encouraged. Bickering is not!

Oh cry me a river...
Not even directed at you at all.

You are not half as bad as he is...

If someone constantly replied and harrassed you when you weren't even talking to them you'd want something done about it too.

I don't know who he is, but I guarantee he wouldn't mouth off to my face.

He needs to get a life.

Played at Liberty, not that it’s a factor in my opinion. Will never play.
Walked on at Liberty.

I'm fine with the kid being a Vol, it's the people saying we NEED him that are ridiculous.

It's like they're not paying attention at all to starting BYU LB or the 3 stud HS LBs we signed.

Did our staff guarantee him a roster spot or not? Are our PWO's still limited to fill to the 105 cap in the fall? Did this happen without our HC and DC buying off on extending this offer? That room was not a strength last year, and I am hopeful that ALL our additions will YEILD an improved room this year, but I doubt our staff is not taking all these scholly and PWO decisions seriously, especially with the second portal window still out there. Bet there was a risk/reward and value add analysis on every kid offered.
All valid points.

And there are varying degrees of importance.
Good practice bodies are essential.

But there's a difference between -
We need this kid as an immediate specialist and pushing for 2 spot and "practice body that can give a good look".

Yes to everything you said, still not gonna be anything more than a ST guy imo. More than likely Going to land at least two linebackers high on their board (Spillmans a vol). Doubt he ever moves past Jackson Hannah, and I don’t know if he plays a down here.

The room was not a strength but he’s not taking Any snaps over the 3 freshmen we just landed lol

You’re still not acknowledging that me disagreeing with you is merely disagreeing. I’m even allowed to think your opinions are dumb. Just as you’re allowed to call me a jackass, loser, wimp, whatever you want, and you do that to me and others often.

If you feel that strongly that you don’t think we need Caleb Williams, then just explain why and move on. As a 40 year I would expect you to be able to have a debate without getting your feelings hurt and reporting me when you get upset.

I feel like having extra guys in the LB room when we have next to none proven starters, isn’t a bad thing. If you care to explain why you think Beasley and Pili will be sufficient to man that position, please share

I like it when players who want to be at Tennessee get that opportunity. Maybe it will work out and maybe it won't. Best wishes on his time at UT.

This right here. This kid gets to fulfill a lifelong dream. How incredible is that. We used to celebrate that in here, now we argue over it? C'mon, it's still about the kids and not you. And let me tell you this, if somehow they accepted me as a PWO, I wouldn't give a rats 2 hole what anyone on any forum thinks. That is something he'll have for the rest of his life, something he can share his kids and grandkids. But to posters on here, he's not wanted because "he's taking up a roster spot". How shallow. Sheesh what the last several years have done to this forum.

How can you guarantee that? Nothing in life is a guarantee.

If anyone actually read the article, the kid said UT was his dream school.
And he just wanted to be close to family.

So whether he plays or not it seems he still made the best move for himself regardless.
At least in terms of being happy.

Why do you suppose Coach extended a PWO offer to this guy? Special teams maybe. He is filling some need or Coach has lost it.
