Guys improve. IIRC, Davis is a Soph, right? Lots of programs have a system where guys RS then get some PT and eventually start in their 4th and 5th year. Mizzou in particular made that model work really well under Pinkel.

I'm not saying he will become an SEC worthy OL. I am saying that it is silly to write him off already.

While I agree, I think some guys are physically limited. I watched Davis get burned too many times this season to truly believe he will be a quality o lineman for us. Purdue game comes to mind. I hope I’m wrong and he can become a solid contributor for us

I played on a really good HS football team but only two or 3 guys had the opportunity to play CFB. One was our best OL. He was always pretty stiff but took dance classes to improve his flexibillity. He became the first OL to be a 4 year starter at WCU. He could have played higher level but could never gain enough weight.

I'm not saying that he doesn't need a lot of work physically. Only that he's a big kid with a lot of drive. I would love to see him beat the odds.
