May have already been a thread on this . . .

Cal returns 1,000 tix to UT. Either UT is not a big draw out west (don't think so) or the alleged rabid Cal fans are staying home. Maybe we're not walking into a snake pit after all.

I bought tickets two weeks ago, and UT didnt have any nor did Cal (without buying season tickets) I wonder where the hell these tickets were then? Most people probably already got tickets through stubhub or someplace else.

anyone who said cal has 72K rabid fans clearly doesn't know squat about cal football.

I'm not making fun of anyone, but I'm still shocked at the number of people who jumped on ebay and paid $100+ per ticket. There will be all the tickets one could want on the street at face value or below.

honestly, i think it was just a reaction that most TN fans have about TN Games........tickets will be hard to get, so get'em while you can......

obviously, we didn't take in to account the apathetic Cal fanbase not caring......:p

our fanbase is not apathetic, just small. Those expecting a vols home game will be very disapointed.
not expecting a vols home game.......

but it does stand to reason that it appears the toughest thing about this road trip is going to be the 3 hour time difference.

We play in Tiger Stadium, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Bryant Denny Stadium, Jordan Hare Field, etc., on a regular basis. Playing in front of a Cal crowd will seem like a vacation.

hell, it will be. Northern Cali in September? a far better draw than 90 + degree heat in the SEC somewhere.......

we play at 8 pm PST, which is 5 pm EST.......

That's because you've been hearing it from mental invalids like Sethyhead.

Well, to be fair most of the people I've heard it from is at espn.com ncaa discussion. And that's probably not really the best forums for actual football discussion. In fact, it's probably the worst.

Speaking of 3 hour time difference.....when will the team fly out to acclimate themselves to the time change?

The game is at 8 PM Eastern. There's no reason to "acclimate" to the time change. Just keep the same routine you have when we play the 7:45 ESPN game.

Well the crowd really came out for the oregon game last year and clearly got into dixon's head, so a lot of cal fans are expecting a similar atmosphere. But ainge is not dixon, and tenn isn't oregon. I do think our fans will come pumped after last years game, but as Hat said, nothing you guys aren't used to. It should also be noted that that cal crowd (i.e the loud, intimidating one) comes out MAYBE once a year. Tedford practically begged the fans before the oregon game to make some serious noise.

If they only do it once a year, you're in serious trouble. You've got Tennessee and SC both on your home slate.
