We aren't "in dookie" we just need the administration to be neither trigger shy nor trigger happy. Mike Hamilton, thus far, has proven himself to be a great AD, but the head coaching job at Tennessee is the ultimate test, here.

2007 is make or break for Phil Fulmer, IMO, and just like last season, we have no idea what we have.

well everyone who i've talked to in the past say that Fulmer's style of play is too conservative for today's game and that it is not going to win games like it did last decade, so he just needs to open up the playbook a little bit more cause there's no reason we should ever be held to 10 or 14 points with all the talent we have

But back to the subject, i guess you could say that those 4 teams have had more recent success against UT but i believe that UT is capable of beating those teams any day and every year we usually come close to doing so or we do it (with an exception for a couple of games)...

My point was that that whole argument is bogus either way. I don't want to hear about how we only lost to UF by one point when we were a two-point conversion away from losing to Air Force.

And there isn't room for "7 powerhouses" in the same conference, because they have to play each other and will rack up losses. You can be the fifth best team in the conference and still be a pretty good team, but you're not going to be ranked very high because you're still going to have several losses a year.

This is apart of the argument of why there should be a playoff

Something in common happened to each of those teams before they won those titles, too, which is VIA's point. See if you can figure out what it was.

I'd agree with this assessment. The killer is being the third-place team in the division. If you're a solid #2 behind Florida, like we were for most of the 90s, then you'll still get chances to win the division/conference every few years. If you're the #3 team, though, then you're not going to get many opportunities to do much better than the Outback or Chicken Bowls.

that just goes to show that if u put a good coach with a talented SEC team then u will be dominant... so what do yall think about Troop Taylor?, this may be crazy but i could see him as the head coach one day at UT

I don't know. I need to see Taylor in a coordinator spot first. He's done very well thus far as a position coach. Everything changes when you become a coordinator.

Spurrier hasnt done too shabby either. Who would have guessed that someone could recruit so well at Columbia?

Fact of the matter is that a coaching change has been an revitalizing force in the sec this decade and might be worth a look.

Here's the bottom line: Tennessee is 38-18 in the SEC this decade, with only 2 good seasons (2001 and 2004). We average 5.43 conference wins per season and 2.57 conference losses per seasons. That's bad.

Taylor has a chance to show me he is a great coach worthy of a promotion next year. To this point he has done what is expected with his position. If he can turn out a superb WR game next year - I'll be impressed.

Football is simple. Let's block, tackle, and catch better and everything will be fine. I saw improvements from previous performances last season that I expect to continue into this season.
