Here is the story. Bottom line is that you can expect to hear chants of "PAC-10" at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Why?

First, Mike Dunbar (offensive coordinator) is gone. The offense was a confusing mess last year, but seeing how Spring practice went, things are on track, and Tubby Longshore is losing weight.

Second, Syd'Quan Thompson has experience, and you won't burn him like you did last year.

Third, Berkeley ain't Rocky Top. Since 90% of your state's residents have never travelled more than 45 miles from their homes, the "sea of orange" will be more like a few fat drunk guys in the corner of the stadium. The game will be sold out, and Memorial Stadium can get very loud.

Fourth, your talent graduated. In the spirit of your sports columnist, David Climer, Longshore will be doing "fish-in-the-barrel target practice" against Tennessee's "step-slow defense."

Revenge will be sweet. GO BEARS.

First you are still the Cal Bears and you're head coach is the same as last year you know the one that was down 35-0 till we put the freshmen in.

Second we would stomp you anywhere we play.

Third you are still a Pac 10 school that means if your name is not Usc you don't really matter in college football oh and please give me a break there is no such thing as a loud pac 10 stadium.

After playing at the likes of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, I doubt that we will be intimidated by Cal stadium. :)

I'm going to take a wild guess here but based on the time you made this post I'd say you were high as kite on some of that California Weed. :eek:lol:

First, I suspect by the beginning of the 4th quarter we'll be hearing car keys heading for the exits and some sort of tree-hugging protest going on nearby.

Second, Berkely ain't Rocky Top. If you did your homework you'd know that we've been playing better on the road against "good" opponents than we do at Neyland. Yeah, that's right.

Third, just about every SEC game is sold out and can get loud. Congrats on selling out, quite an accomplishment. We won't be too fazed by it, we sometimes play at places like the swamp, the real death valley, and so forth.

Forth, keep expecting the "step-slow" defense. The game will look suprisingly similar to last year. And as has been posted, it was 35-0 when we put the newbies in.

Fifth, I'm obviously mocking your post.

Sixth, thanks for the laugh.

Pass me some of what you're using.

No doubt 90% of Vol Nation has been to more venues around the country to support the Vols than your fair-weather Cal fanbase.

In the words of the great Carl Spackler, "I have to laugh!"

I think the best improvement you could hope for is to not have one of your starters sustain a concussion on the opening kickoff.

What a gang of pansies.

You are obviously smoking some of Mr. Spackler's Bent/Sensimilla hybrid.

Nice post. Now, for reality. We will roll you again like we did last year. I'd venture to say that that stadium full of intimidating tree hugging quilt knitters will be headed back for their Volvo wagons and the white zinfandel and hippie lettuce about the 3rd quarter. Thanks for playing, goodbye now.

YEAaaa (in redneck tone)

We must have beat them so bad they blocked out what a real defense is.

I think Ainge will still have a chip on his shoulder and take it out on them.

see thats why Cal will never be a good team becuase if they are practicing for a 'step slow' defense then they will be shocked to see a freshman (Ben Martin) coming around the corner to knock out their qb, or another freshman Chris Donals comin on a lb blitz, and lets not leave Berry out of this, and not to mention a potential all-american free safety in Hefney, and everyone knows we are Linebacker U... so if they are preparing for a step slow defense then i expect this game to be similar to the one in Knoxville last year and what will make it worse is that it is in front of their 2000 fans that they have

So are they going to use the same excuses next year after we beat them again-but at home? We may not blow them out but overall, I think we have a better second team than they do a 1st.

I get your point but I don't see Donald or Martin making a big impact the first game of their freshman year. Berry might not make that big of an impact either in the first game of his freshman year.

At LB we still have Mayo, McCoy, Karl and Wilson that will see more pt than Donald especially the first game of the season.

Speaking of excuses, didn't Cal say their season didn't start until after Tenn beat'em, or was it that they denied ever playing UT to begin with? I forget.

i disagree, i believe the freshmen (Donald, Martin, Berry)will show enough determination, effort and talent over the summer to play right away and i believe that they will be an impact rite away...

Again, another reason why Cal isnt a good team... what kind of National title contender starts to play during the second game of the season???
