It's headed that way anyway, and I think this transfer issue is connected with the "...but the players aren't paid" issue. There's a general movement to treat them more like professional players, or like coaches, who can "transfer" and not have to sit out a year.

Agree or disagree, there's a cultural change afoot.

The simple fact that it’s the night before the team flies out to Columbia and (as far as we know) Greg Sankey hasn’t informed Tennessee or anyone for that matter on the status of Cade Mays is absurd.

Someone has probably said something similar but I’m lazy and didn’t feel like catching up on 15 pages worth of text.

When you look at Sankey's behavior from a political lens, it could well be that Sankey is making a power play on the NCAA to make their own decisions as a governing entity.
All sorts of people have saying super nice things about him as of late.. maybe you're seeing the downside of it now

You are missing the point! So another point, to your point, if a player ON SCHOLARSHIP is on the sidelines (one that is i elegible.to play for any reason) in street closes and punches an opposing player. The team gets a 15 yard penalty and he gets ejected from the game. Penalty is same REGARDLESS of the players status!

The REAL question is; what is the penalty IF CADE plays without SEC approval. Is there a Bylaw that states what the penalty is or is it just a rule that says we can't do it!

It’s not the free for all you’re espousing. You attempt to play Cade without approval on Saturday, and they don’t have to play a game. They whistle it dead and SC gets a forfeit win before the first snap. All games are connected to officials in Birmingham...one of them will prolly notice!

They used to be a family of 5 till a freak storm snowed them in and they couldn’t get out to the store.

They got away with it too. By the time anyone noticed the other two were missing, they had already flushed all the evidence.

I ain’t trying to throw nothing at anyone. Simply saying, if the shoe was on the other foot? That is all. Folks are gonna do what they do, but sometimes, maybe looking in the mirror isn’t a bad thing.

I think they should change the rule. The kids should have the same opportunity the coaches do...but I also understand why the rule exists.

The penalty would be ineligibility for the SEC Championship in future years, a reduction in the distribution received for conference revenue and not being assigned to one of the SEC’s bowl games.

Not telling you how to handle things but I’m at peace with my footwear. When Cade made his original decision, I didn’t wish him well...or disaster...pretty much nothing. I also never said never at the possibility of him returning. I know myself. I like high end talent on the team and never apologize.

Cade signed with UGA in the immediate wake of the post-Butch coaching search fallout too if I remember correctly. That was a very uncertain time, I don't blame him for looking elsewhere, but that elsewhere should never be UGA or Bama or UF for UT family kid. Regardless, all is well that ends well.
