‘23 CA QB Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee)

Nico was very impressive today. Threw for several TDs and caught a TD pass from Madden. His uncle said the visit went really well. I was with Cam and Nico during that entire exchange and Cam was giving him nothing but great advice. Really good interaction between the two. It seems like Cam has grown up and matured and he is fully invested in teaching young athletes positive life lessons so they don't make the same mistakes he did. He has been losing a lot of money doing this as he pays out of pocket for everything for all of his teams but he loves what he does. Was excited for Nico going to UT and paid for his whole 15U 7v7 team to go visit UT today because Winston Watkins Jr wanted to visit. Jack might join their 18U team next 7v7 season

Great to see the uncle seeing the benefit/value of the Cam talk...

Hopefully not. Since he's an Auburn Tiger. Last time he was great, Peyton was the winning QB against him in the Super Bowl.
That was also the last time anyone saw Peyton play at all. The good thing is Newton isn't exactly an ambassador for AU. Think of it this way. Kamara is who most recruits talk about when referencing UT football, and they'll say "I know Peyton Manning played there" Kids still emulate the Cam Newton "Superman" celebration.

Shaquille originated the Superman love...so it's not really an ode to Cam. Point is last time he was relevant, Peyton was playing. Wouldn't even guarantee Newton's a first ballot HOF. Could see where some would argue Donovan McNabb was as good or better.

This isn't a discussion about who was better. This is purely about who is currently more relevant in the eyes of recruits. Kids today would rather meet Tyreek Hill than Jerry Rice.

And wasn’t arguing better. We saw more Peyton last year from his and Eli’s MNF broadcast than Cam on the sidelines.

And you're not a recruit. Kids weren't watching Peyton and Eli. Everything is about recruiting and what's relevant to kids right now. Training center upgrades, stadium renovations, and alternate uniforms are all more relevant to recruits than Peyton Manning or the '98 national championship. Yet they are all things that you hear certain fans b!tch about.

They don’t watch pro football? Then how the hell are they watching Cam warm the bench? 😏

Regardless of how anyone here feels about Cam, him being high on Nico is arguably good for Nico and can only help the perception of his brand, especially among other recruits. Best to just leave it at that.
That isn’t where we got sidetracked. Some posters took issue with others not giving the Auburn legend proper deference.
