He redshirted at USC, but transfered out when the sanctions hit. Grades aren't a concern, which he also declared on his twitter page, @bmoore9.

USC commit out of HS. Does anybody know what happened? Grades?

Going by what his father said , they didn't like the staff. He had a few things to say , basically calling them knuckleheads. I know he wanted to play for Pete , but that changed and the sanctions also played a factor. The host (couldn't tell you which one) said well "If you have a job and a new boss comes in ... and he's a bum , you find a new job."

This is a great kid. Never been in trouble , great student. Great football player. He left for career reasons. Felt he was at the wrong place. GBO!!!

I just got chills watching that, especially since the coaches think he'll play corner. Brewer and Jackson at safety, Moore and Waggner at corner. Can you see it? If the pass rush shows up, we could shut down passing games. We need TJ for the pass rush up the middle with Couch and Malik. Now if we can just get Dawson or Maggitt to shore up the linebacking corps...

Could be a great secondary!

Defense is shoring up...like you said get a solid LB and we could be really good on the defensive side.

Man this is freaking awesome. Have loved all of the positive news this last week. Haven't felt this good about Tennessee football in awhile. Dooley and co. are going to be monster recruiters.

This is a HUGE pickup. BMoore will start immediately. Our secondary is looking incredible. DLine is looking much better too. Just need a big time LB... cough, Dawson, cough.

One expert said Byron Moore looks a lot like Charles Woodson, the Heisman trophy winner, who beat out Peyton Manning. I still think Peyton should have won the trophy, but Woodson is in the Super Bowl Sunday and might be one of the top 3 CB in the NFL.

I like him a lot more at corner than I do at safety. Good instincts in coverage but not a great tackler.

Oh, that Charles Woodson?

So do you guys see him more as a the shut down corner or possibly giving Brewer a run for his job? I think we would benefit most with him at corner to run with the better SEC receivers that continue to burn us.

I think he is definitely a corner. He looks so much more natural there in his highlight reel.

I don't see him as a shut down corner as much as a physical, jam him at the line, knock the ball loose enforcer on the edge. Similar in build to Aqib Talib from Kansas, and I can see him being used similarly to Charles Woodson. Charles lines up at safety, blitzes off the edge, hits hard, and reads routes as well as any corner in the league. I get the feeling BMoore has that skill set.
