Per twitter via Volnation LB Kenneth Bynum has committed. Is Bynum SEC caliber or just an addition for depth purposes? CDD keeps getting the job done in my opinion. What do you think?

time will tell. it is time for dooley to put up or leave.

Dalton Santos is a 3* and everyone went nuts when we lost him. Bynum has almost same rating as Santos. Welcome Bynum. Also this moves UT above LSU in ratings for classes at #17.
Almost every upper tier program offered Santos, and he was 4* with everyone except Rivals, and was among the top-rated LBers with ESPN & Scout. No top program offered Bynum, until UT did at the 11th hour after Santos and Peters fell through.

Doesn't mean that he won't ultimately be a good player, but as a prospect coming out of HS, he isn't in the same universe as Santos.

I don't remember seeing any nonsense. It seemed to me that all posters stayed on Topic really well.

Agreed - the concensus among the posters was to post as many posts as possible so Bynum would be impressed by all the attention he had generated. IT WORKED. GBO

Did they ever find out it was the crackhead who got a hold to he wrong crack that was dancing to the Lephercaun flute? BOOM on Bynum! Hope he will be like a Lathers that had less attention in high school but balled in college. Play like Lathers but don't copy his health status.

This is good. I'm tired of hearing about people saying they would rather save a spot for next year. Do people really think we will sign all four and five stars next year? The only people he would be taking a spot from are other three stars. We will need him in the next couple of years especially after Johnson and Maggitt leave.

Okay so we have 3 linebackers in this class now if Lewis does move there... lets get some opinions who do you think will have the brighter future with the UT program Lewis? King? or Bynum?

Bynum, with the year of strength training and experience in Sunseri's system could see some early playing time. He played this past season at 225, but dropped down to 217 in order to wrestle at a preferred weight class. He will get up to 230 in the course of a year at UT.

ESPN's recruiting analysts said that Bynum possessed the speed to make some game changing plays from the linebacker position. That does not mean that he is lightning fast. It means that he has the speed to beat offensive linemen and fullbacks to the point of attack and make some big plays. It also means that he can play every down, where Santos was a 2 down linebacker at best.

solid player, special teams and maybe crack the 2 deep in a season or 2. possible redshirt in there too.

We need more players like this. He is a great fit for Sunseri, and I like that he backed away from it all to make the right decision for himself. We don't need guys deciding on a whim. This kid has show a ton of maturity dealing with his situation.

And he is a state contender in wrestling. That is always great news for football recruits.
