is coming to UT.

Mark it down. It should be announced shortly. He won't be eligible until after the first semester next season, but the staff has invited him to enroll this week in classes at UT.

He was a parade all-american from Memphis and played for Lute Olsen at Arizona.

Posted this in the recruiting section, but this may help in the fact that one more able body may allow us to run teams out of the gym when we have a bad shooting night.

Are people mad about this, or happy. It seems to me that UT fans do not want him in Knoxville

I don't think that's true, I just think some question how big of an impact he can have based on what he did at Arizona. However, I'll defer to Pearl's judgement. If he thinks Prince can help us down the road, I'm all for it.

I agree.Pearl has managed to turn UT Basketball around 100%.Why doubt anything he does at this point.

I have not seen Prince play ball since he was at White Station, however from what I have seen, he should be a contributor in our system. He is a tall, long, athletic guard that should be able to contribute enough to see the floor and help out. I do know one thing from a fact after watching him for years in high school, he is a great transitional player. He can get out and run and was one of the best dunkers around when he was in high school. Not saying his dunking ability instantly makes him a player, just saying that if he can play defense well enough to get on the floor, he should get his fair share of points by way of fast break dunks.

Well, we have a scholly to give away now. I don't know much about the kid, but from what I read, he was sick/injured a lot of the time at Arizona, so maybe once he's healthy and fit after the season off, he'll be a contributor.

Without knowing too much about Prince, I'm just imagining potential benefits of having a taller, lankier guard - mainly, they could defend the perimeter shot better than a smaller guard. Tayshaun was (and still is) so valuable b/c he could get a hand in a shooter's face. You don't need bulk for that.

As an aside, remember what Majerus and Utah did to Arizona in the late 1990s in the Final Four? Took his lanky forwards and put them on the perimeter in a zone. Zona couldn't get a shot off. It was genius.
