Based solely on last night's performance, here's how I'd value the stock for those listed below.

Sutton - Buy... Cameron did a great job reading and reacting to the plays, individual tackling, and had a good overall game with the exception of trying to do too much with the first punt return.

Berry - Buy... Only had the one touch but bringing that ball out of the endzone, even though the offense wasn't able to capitalize, got the fans back in the game. Coaching staff needs to find a way to get him more touches.

Medley - Buy
... Very solid kicks last night.

Hurd - Hold
... an absolutely exceptional effort recovering that fumble in the endzone otherwise the game is likely an L. However, Hurd seems to think he can run through anyone when there were times he could have cut for more yardage. He almost seems to prefer the contact. Granted he's a tough runner, but there were a few times he even ran through his own blockers instead of having the patience to let a lane develop.

C Shoop - Hold... but trending up. The defense looked a bit lackadaisical in the first half and seemed to have trouble with the run game, but adjustments were made and the D basically shut App St down in the second half (while missing a key component in JRM).

C Jones - Hold... but trending into the short sell category. Very fortunate to come away with a W last night. This team was not ready to play.

Team 120 - Hold... but trending down. Value will likely take a hit in the polls with a lucky and lackluster win, but I still think there are future dividends ahead.

C Debord - Sell... another game like last night and his stock will probably be de-listed.

C Mahoney
- Sell... OLine was getting manhandled at times last night by a Dline that was giving up over 50 lbs per player.

Dobbs - Sell
... Yes, he completed one pass downfield (largely thanks to Malone... but that's what good receivers do if you'll give them a chance to make a play), but overall he had a poor game. There were a number of passes, even a few short ones (including one to Hurd who would have had some open field), that he threw poorly. His stock, based on last night, has been over valued.

Coleman - Sell... was getting pushed down by air last night.

Kamara - Who knows??? Not a factor at all in the game yesterday, but not his fault. Let's hope for whatever reason that they were just holding him back for next week.

looking at your "chart" it doesn't look good for a bullish market...first game, so, I'm holding all right now, but not buying any more shares either...:)

GO VOLS!

Debord sell
Mahoney sell
Butch about to be sold, only because the buck stops with him and clearly our team for whatever reason or reasons was not ready last night physically and mentally ... Our offense was not put in the position to maximize the talent we have and that should not be an issue at this point... and it clearly was.

If anyone gets sold Jones needs to be sold also. Ultimately the buck stops with him. Dobbs sadly needs to go also. With all the talent on the team we can not afford to blow this year by having a QB that can't throw the ball.

Yes, at times it's nice to see, but this was Quite perplexing -- going to be more difficult to pick up long runs this way.

And, would suggest to slap a few coats of solid-color paint over the mouthpiece, imo.

Agree. That looked a bit "high schoolish" imo.

Now that I have slept on it, there are plenty of examples of P5 teams getting scared or loosing to a team like App State. These are the same or pretty much the same OL and DL that were tough last year, I am going to play the "they were looking past App State, to the VT game" card. Their pride was hurt last night, they will snap and clear and place a hurting on VT to regain some pride and self-respect.

Go Vols!!

All of this needs to be hung on Debord. The play calling was pathetically predictable. As offensive coordinator its his responsibility to make sure all facets of the offense, including the o-line, are preforming as they should. On more than half of the limited pass plays called, Dobbs was running for his life and trying to make throws on the run, which is extremely difficult for anyone. I was pleased with the defense. Not counting when they started on their own 36 due to the muffed punt that resulted in a touchdown, they only allowed 6 points. I'll take that all day every day. And they did it without their leader Reeves-Maybin. If Jones is going to let Jancek go after last year, Debord's hot seat should be reaching critical mass very soon if things don't change!

Totally agree with this portion of your post. I think it goes back to your Cam Sutton comment. Hurd was almost trying to do too much by finding people to hit instead of gaining yards. Several times he out ran his blockers just to hit someone???? Really rare to see Hurd fumble as well. I think that is only his second fumble?

This is going to sound mean and ungrateful but I have never been sold on Kamara. He does not seem to have breakaway speed all the time and when faced with a defender he folds like a bad card table. He either needs more opportunities from the coaches or step up when given the opportunities. We were definitely a one running back team last night.

Go Vols!
