Obviously just a few comments but I found these interesting

Wes Rucker ‏@wesrucker247 17m17 minutes ago
Butch: The progress we’ve made in this program keeps being minimized, and I just don’t get it. We’ve come so far in so many areas.

Wes Rucker ‏@wesrucker247 16m16 minutes ago
Butch doubling down on #ChampionsOfLife. Doubling down hard. All in.

Wes Rucker ‏@wesrucker247 13m13 minutes ago
Butch: We’ve won 14 of our past 17 games. I don’t understand why people are minimizing that. We’ve come a long, long way.

Wes Rucker ‏@wesrucker247 10m10 minutes ago
Butch: Coaches across the country visit us all the time, asking us how we’ve turned this thing around. I don’t get people minimizing it.

I hate Rucker but it sounds like Jones truly is tone deaf to the expectations here

IMO Butch is either acting unhappy acting like he might leave to get a raise, or he is actually very stressed out and is thinking about leaving.

Maybe most VOL fans only look at the actual season and the manner in which we win or lose. Some people only see a "W" or "L" while others care more about the performance itself.

I think he is right, they have done a good job turning it around. Hopefully inreasonable fans dont run off a good coach.

USCe was a BIG miss, and is in the lap of Butch & the Coaches. Coming off a bye-Week...INEXCUSEABLE!

aTm...should have been won, but poor Team execution...which stems from coaching, or lack there of...

These 2 as "Ws" and the year is a monumental success...these 2 as "Ls' and questions of Butch's Coaching ability/Game Management/Preparation will continue.

he shouldn't whine...

I think he's gone JMO and I have no proof or inside information SO DON'T TAKE THIS AS GOSPEL. But he seems stressed, unhappy and I don't think he likes when expectations are set.

Thats the thing... If he does his job correctly, this year and last, thats another 4 wins at least on his resume here. And people wouldn't be so mad.

I don't want Butch gone. Maybe people are just tired of watching a very talented team play sloppy and inconsistent football. I know I am.

Butch has built a program.

Wins up every year
Talent up
Graduation up
GPA up
Expectations up

We are trending towards championship. Had to do a lot of reteaching due to injury this year. Reps matter. This ain't Madden.

Media plays to the nega Vols to sale clicks.

Fans are pissed because Tennessee didn't win the east and rightfully so. Tennessee didn't lose the east because they lost to Bama or A&M. Tennessee didn't lose the east because LSU lost to Florida. Tennessee lost the east because they got beat by South Carolina when they were a 14 point favorite COMING OFF A BYE WEEK! This is a trend for Butch, the table is set every year and he manages to sh!t the bed every time. The SEC east was at a all time low this year and Tennessee had more talent than anyone in the east and blew it. I'm so sick of, well Florida doesn't have to play Bama thats not fair blah blah blah. Florida was down 7 key starters and went into LSU and took care of business. Their coach doesn't make excuses and hang banners for "bowl championships" he mans up and gets sh!t done while butch hides behind his mountain of excuses.

I'm keeping my eye on Shoop. This year is a major black-eye on his resume, prove it was injury fluke, that I would think he needs to stay through 2017 to rectify. I think Shoop would struggle to make a lateral move at best right now.

If Shoop actually interviews anywhere my hunch tells me he's cutting losses on Butch.

The man has gotten a raise and/or extension almost every season he has been here.

That should temper his psyche on feeling slighted for not getting enough credit for the turnaround job he has done. A turnaround which, to date, has included losing games they shouldn't have lost every single season.

If it makes the little fella feel better, I'll give him a pat on the back.

Yes they would. People b***h and moan on here all the time. We either don't win by enough, or we don't win in a dominant fashion. I would be pissed but he needs to filter out the noise of the legion of miserables. They are not happy ever.

ATM, toss up game.
Bama, expected loss.
USCe, inexcusable.

It's not just the W/L column though. Making mediocre to horrible teams look world class while we scratch and claw our way to a win doesn't breed confidence.

Butch is in big boy football now...the SEC. Careers turn on one or two wins or losses here, because every game matters.

I've said before he doesnt get the SEC. 8-9 wins in the MAC or AAC and you're a hero. In the top half of the SEC you are meeting minimum expectations....especially at over $4 million a year.

most programs lose games that they are not suppose to lose all the time. Ole Miss should not have lost to Vandy. Bama should not have lost to Ole Miss last year. Arkansas should not have lost to Toledo. It is what it is. Any given Saturday a team can be beat.

Butch Jones spends way too much time and cares way too much about what the fans and media are saying on a day to day basis... time that he could spend trying to address some of the many mediocrities in his coaching skills.

He has done a lot of good for the program, and for that I am grateful. He's not the guy that's going to get us championships though. He mentioned how stressed he was last year at the end of the season, and he's clearly very stressed this year as well. I don't think he's up to the task and he's aware of it.

I hope he isn't upset. The "champion of life" thing got old after the first few hours. Butch has been a good coach for us.

His feeling the need to continue addressing of the situation is interesting to say the least.

Stay tuned.

It's not exactly fair to leave out things like, overtime for AppState, miracle win vs UGA, non-competitive vs Bama, made Kentucky and Missouri look like rushing juggernauts, etc.
