Does anyone know Butch's formula he says he has for recruiting? I believe he said he wanted 5 QB's and 15 Offensive Lineman. I was just wondering what Butch wants for all positions compared to what we actually have now.

I do not know the whole formula but I will add a piece to the puzzle...he said he wanted 12 receivers and 12 DB's...

My educated guess:

Offense 43
QB - 5
RB - 6
TE - 5
WR - 12
OL - 15

Defense - 40
DL - 16
LB - 12
DB - 12

Special Teams - 2
K - 1
P - 1

These are guidelines and they will rarely have the exact right number. But that’s what they appear to be shooting for in recruiting.

I looked at Cincinatti's 2012 roster and this is what they have:

15 OL's
17 WR's

18 DB's

This is there full roster. Would be nice to know scholarship players.

Because 1 couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a bazooka, 1 couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat and 1 couldn't punt his way out of a wet paper sack. The fourth 1 will be a walk-on and doesn't waste a scholly (unlike the other 3).

You have to have a lot of qb's to run the option.

But I didn't hear the 15 oline part. When did he say that?
