Butch was fired during bye-week/Georgia game?

It's very sad that the best sports team UT has right now is Women's softball and probably track.. That's not the sports your college wants to be known for, no disrespect to the ladies on the softball team and the track team. The people in power better not botch this hire, if Haslam wants to see his school turn it around then he need's to let the football minds take over, Manning,Majors, and Fulmer.

If they really did fire Butch already I think he would be out, I don't think he would be hanging around still. I know I wouldn't be working for someone that had already fired me but wants me to hang around especially how hostile every one is at the moment. Could be wrong though, just doesn't make much sense, unless he likes the verbal abuse being thrown his way week after week, but why put yourself and family in that position.

I have sort of thought the exact same thing. As bad as our offense has been the fact that no changes have been made is pretty telling to me. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

It's twitter. Coaches in trouble don't want the AD wondering why you are tweeting when your offense can't score.

The sooner you guys come to grip that Butch will be coaching next season, the sooner your mental states will improve.

Deal with it. The life championship king will be here in 2018.

No way.

It's gone too far at this point. There's no PR campaign in the world that could ignite the interest of the fan base in 2018 with CBJ at the helm. Confidence in the guy is hitting rock bottom. I'm not saying it's fair or unfair, I am just saying that it is.

Not to mention the fact that there's an awful lot of rumors out there that he wants out as much as it appears folks want him gone. Where's there's smoke, there is usually a little fire.

I had to continue working for GE when they told us they were closing the facility and everyone was going to be let go. We got severance packages that were conditional upon what we did during the final days until our "exit date". If we took another job before said date, or didn't complete the tasks assigned to us for the final few months, no severance. Happens all the time in the real world.

If you expect Majors and Fulmer to be doing anything together other than be on opposite ends of a photo, you don't know what you are asking.

Based on what history exactly? Seem to recall a lot of new blood being brought into UT within the last 12 months. Haven't seen a lot f*** ups from them. Quite the contrary, I like the moves made by Currie so far. So do tell.

I think he is referring to the past ADÂ’s. Hamilton and Hart and how they handled things. Pat Summitt for instance

I saw that on Twitter too. I found it really odd. I don’t think he has been “fired” yet, but may know he’s done after the season.

I think this Twitter change is more a sign of Butch knowing the end is near and either being depressed, ashamed, or disinterested (having one foot out the door).

Yeah maybe he hasn't been fired, but he probably knows he's gone. It's like when you give your 2 weeks notice. Maybe it's a 6 game notice. haha!

Hoke is more active on twitter than Butch is. Usually when you are a HC you are retweeting everything football related to your program. I would bet that Butch was told not to because technically he's gone now.

Were you under contract when the announcement was made?

Every since lYle got the beatdown from georgia while barb and kids bashed vols players and the program to Chris low, she's been on strike from making chip dip? That's just ridiculous.

These lowlife players will no longer save the job he doesnt deserve. No dip for you.

That's kind of a B*tch move Barb.

Edited to respell "been"

I'm just taking a guess, but this is only based on how active Butch Jones twitter account has been.

He rarely tweet things unless it's Barbs Chip Dip players of week. But he was always active with the retweets.

Last few re-tweets

OCT. 10 - retweeted Antonio Brown
OCT. 8/9 - retweeted recruited player/with picture
OCT. 2/3 rewteeted Alvin Kamara NFL stats and "committed players"
SEPT. 28/29 retweeted TENNESSEE Vol Athletics *** the fact that he hasn't retweeted anything else from Tennessee Twitter account is a big sign to me he was fired.

Also the last times he tweeted Barbs's Chip Dip players of week?

SEPT. 27- Players for Umass
SEPT. 21 - Players for Florida
SEPT. 14 - Players for Indiana State

Did Barb run out of Chip Dip?

What happen for a Derek Barnett shoutout?

I think he's personally done and Currie and Butch have agreed to try to keep it under wraps.

This is very telling.

I know they have problems with each other, but they both love the school and two grown man with a lot of experience in life should be able to set aside their differences in order to contribute to the coaching hire.

If they can't put their issues on hold to help the school in one of it's biggest times of need than they shouldn't be a part of the hiring process anyway.
