My point is....only those fan bases gave them a chance....and that is all you need is a chance. Upsets happen every season....that is why you play the game.

Yes there is. The math where 2+2=5 or whatever you think it might be. The science where Vince was a great coach=Derek will be a great coach. See how these conclusions work? Just ask your 9th grader in public school.

That 2010 game for Oklahoma was quite a bit different.

That game against Cinci was the week before the Texas game. Oklahoma's minds weren't going to be on a 1-2 mid-major with a new coach. There wasn't a "Big East Complex" mentally for the Sooners like there is now. This was also at Cincinnati.

So basically almost every major facet is different.

* At home for Cinci, on the road for UT

* Cinci was 1-2 and UT is 2-0

* Cinci is ultimately a "nobody" program. UT is a Top-10 historic program.

* Nobody in the media was making this out to be a game. No articles, nothing. Cinci was just a speedbump to Oklahoma.

* No SEC versus Big-12 or SEC versus Oklahoma undertone for Cinci.

Oklahoma will not be overlooking this game at all, you can believe that. Stoops will have these guys ready to eviscerate us.

People that used their status to give themselves an unfair advantage against people looking to enter the "Unassigned Lands" and make claims on parcels of land in a "first come first served" policy. They would enter the cordoned off territory and stake a claim hours ahead of legal claimers.

Basically, they're thieves. That's why their forum is called "land thieves". They take pride in this.

A Sooner is a land grabbing thief. In the land rush they left "Sooner" than was legally allowed and laid claim to the better land while the poor honest stiffs were still sitting in their covered wagons waiting for the starters pistol. Vols better be looking for a sucker punch at the coin toss!:)

Hey Vol fans. I wanted to follow up on the above observation. It's a bit off base to use the OU/Cincy game of 2010 as a good comparison to Saturday. Being four years ago, this team is built much differently than that team. As an example, our QB at that time (Landry Jones) was a classic drop-back passer and we would fire the ball around the yard about 50 times a game...we were much more of a finesse team. Our offensive scheme is much different now in that it incorporates the zone read as well as a greater emphasis on downhill running. This year's team certainly lends itself more toward balance on the offensive side of the ball. As far as defense is concerned, we are much stronger along the defensive line compared to that team, but our back seven from 2010 was probably a bit more experienced as a whole than this year's version.

However, it's certainly a valid point to say that Jones had him team ready to play and gave OU a good scare in 2010. And from an athletic point of view, we will certainly be seeing athletes very comparable to ours this Saturday.

If you're making the trip....safe travel. I look forward to Saturday evening.

...in 2010, his Bearcats lost 29-31. Oklahoma only lost 2 games that year and finished in the top 10. I'll buy 2 beers for the first person to reply with who those 2 losses were to.
