Let's see Shula son of Don Shula hall of fame coach, so seemed like good hire because of name, sometimes you miss, but not lack of trying.

Price had prior success so seemed good

DuBose won at Memphis prior to taking Alabama job and went to Alabama.

He also won SEC championship at Alabama in 1999.

I know this is a hot topic and people have passionate and different opinions but seeing as how there is very little us 'little folk' can actually do, it's just stupid to take it to a personal level... JMO...

have you not seen what most of these people post on here that reader responds to? they are completely personal in essence and pointed responses. reader is far from the most negative, personally attacking posters on here.

edit: this this post is less about defending reader and more about pots calling kettles black (not you m1al)

Been on here for years and seen plenty of stupid sh!t.. Maybe I used to small of a recent sample to base my comment on.. If so, apologies to anyone who was offended.

He made an asinine statement accusing those who use logic of holding 9 wins as a gold standard. So I have no issue calling him and those who lie and attack my beloved UT out.

What is so LOL, are you saying Tennessee has been trying as hard to make good hires?

Lane I will give was at least an attempt of splash hire, just ruined with contract and not seeing what a immature jerk he was/is.

Are you saying the resumes they had were bad?

DuBose won an SEC championship, so how bad was that?

I hate them as much if not more than anybody on here, but to say they hire lack luster resume coaches is wrong.

Edit: NONE of them come close to having a resume as good as Jones. Good Lord man. Dislike the man if you want but to think Shula or Dubose had a better resume when hired is idiotic at best. Both were nothing more than asst.

Price had good record at Wash St. especially for their past.
In fact had best Quartback trio in school history with Bledsoe, Leaf, and Gesser.

Shula you know

Debose was promoted at every stop was D line coach in NFL and was an Alabama guy.

I simply said I do not feel Tennessee admin is trying as hard to help sports succeed lately (post Dickey era)

Butch IMO was average hire, and I think he deserves one more year despite underachieving IMO this year., mostly but not entirely due to injuries. I hope we win the whole thing next year and we can quit arguing with fellow "VOL" fans.

Again Butch good guy and hope he grows as coach because I and others have a little doubt about his coaching abilities does not make us against team.

To be more specific I would grade hire of him as a "C"

Coaching "C"

Recruiting "B+"
