Butch: Per experts, 2 to 4 wins.....

No there was one that said 2 wins on the Espn maybe bayless. Can't remember and who ever he was talking to said 5 or 6 wins unless there were key injuries and then 4

It played out about like everyone thought. It was over the Vegas line so i guess you could say they exceeded expectations..

Total BS. I like Butch a lot but saying stupid crap like that doesnt do him any favors. I have no idea who he thinks hes fooling.

He's been using "excuses" such as these since he's got here. I personally like Butch and hope he succeeds but this embellishing coach speak does get old. He's done a decent to fine job on the field and exceeded all of our expectations on the recruiting trail. Let the results speak for themselves and leave it at that.

So in other words the rational fans like myself called 5-7/6-6.

Radio personalities and writers are certainly irrational and likely have never held a ball or understand sports.

Therefore, the only "expert" is the Vegas odds.....

He certainly exceeded the Vegas expectation.....

I guess that I would attempt to draw attention to the preseason "expert" predictions after I just led a team that should have at least won 7 if not 8 games to a 6 win season. [I predicted 7-5--and with some good luck--8-4]

I do believe (from having watched the last two seasons of CBJ's staff) that they need at least 3 more years to have adequate time to prove themselves.

However, I don't think Bajakian has the ability at this time to lead an offense in the SEC to more than 8-9 wins in a season....I hope that he grows as an OC into SEC caliber, but seriously doubt that he will. Both he and Jones coach in big games (except UGA) way too tight and have failed to rise to the occasion....(Fla game, Missouri game...)

I do believe that CBJ is our guy to lead the ship, but he honestly needs to step away from the heat of the battle and objectively evaluate himself--hard to do, but I give him a grade of C for this year. Of course--he has earned an A in recruiting...but he cannot have another 6-6 regular season record or recruiting will begin to suffer...we must win 9 next year and be competitive for a 10th win in a bowl game...

On the other hand--Jancek will probably be a good enough DC when he gets some better athletes in the secondary with the ability to run his man coverage...I personally think the Berry boy(s) and TK Jr. should have been on the field in the secondary ahead of both Coleman and McNeil....they couldn't have played any worse than those two.

Just my 2 cents....:salute:

GO VOLS!

Lord knows I love football too, but some of you cats need a second hobby. You guys are literally hanging on his every word, dissecting it like the gospel.
According to experts, Butch is assembling "program changing" talent. Let's see what he does when that talent gets some much needed experience.
Really, who gives a rat's ass how many talking heads predicted 2-4 wins? Coach-speak is rarely specific or accurate. Let's chalk his comments up to that and not give more weight to them than they deserve.

Get used to the guys "coach speak". It won't change.

I've met and spoken with him several times. This is how the guy is wired. It's literally how he talks in real life conversation.....

Rationally yes. Anyone expecting much more than 6 or 7 were probably wearing Orange tinted glasses..

I bet the Vegas line next year is 7.5. He needs a min of 7 next season (minimum). 8-9 is ideal. 9+ and he's coach of the year in SEC

Well, he's allowed to get away with it for the first two years of his job because of the status of the program.

However, he needs to demonstrate that he has the ability to lead this team to a win against a team that we shouldn't necessarily beat to prove himself in the SEC. And he hasn't done that so far.

For example--Ole Miss was able to beat Bama this year....Miss. State beat both LSU and Auburn this year....I would say that we need to beat UGA, Fla, and Mizzou next year at the very least to be on track....

I think Missouri loses a lot of players to graduation/draft. Maybe I'm wrong.

UGA will be in Knoxville.

Florida should be venerable with completely new staff and system.

He has beaten SCjr two years in a row. Technically speaking....those were upsets......

He could have easily had 7 or 8 wins this year but just as easily had 4 wins this year. A loss to SCjr and losing last night. Both of those games could have easily been losses. So, he split the difference at 6 wins.....

I thought he would beat the following and he did:

Utah St
Arkansas St
UTC
Kentucky
Vandie

I thought he MIGHT upset one of the following and he did:

Florida
South Carolina
Missouri

So I had him 5-7 or 6-6 and it was a very reasonable and rational expectation.....

Everyone knows that we were expected to win 4 maybe 5 by most experts. I expected us to win 7 or 8 so we underachieved in my book but I could care less. WE ARE FINALLY BOWLING!!! Next year we should be a nine win team at the least.

Someone mentioned bleacher report, but I also remember SI predicting 4 wins as well. I personally was at 6 (maybe 7 if God was smiling), and it was met. The only thing was, I had Tennessee losing to SCar (however winnable thus my #7), and Ole Miss as a win. I just didn't expect the OL to be that bad. I thought the losses would be from the defense being overpowered or the offense not able to move the ball for reasons outside of the OL.

who are deaf, don't understand, don't want to understand, hate CBJ, or just want to be negative,

HE.......WAS.......ADDRESSING......SEC....WINS....NOT...TOTAL....WINS.

Call me crazy, but I don't think CBJ is satisfied with 6 wins and truly desires for the program to return to greatness. He wants to oversee it, and for those who think he is tryng to resume build with his statement need to get a grip.
