Good win against an average team. But Marshall was a clinic. Is Butch on anybody's hot seat with these unorthodox wins? My daughter said as much. UT alums both.

His azz was on fire at halftime, but he always seems to do just enough to keep it from reaching a tipping point.

He is fine. Have you seen next year's recruiting class? Also it was a gimmicky offense that we beat even if it wasn't pretty

Come on...give it a rest and enjoy the win. This is REALLY old. Butch is not on the hot seat except in some fans' minds.

I like him, but the whole thing seems like a house of cards just waiting to tumble over. He just cant solidify anything.

He won't be fired. He probably bought himself another loss to Candy last night. He always has his recruiting class to hold up and his new coaches to use as excuses. Either way I think Jones is clear from the hot seat now barring something like 5 or 6 straight losses which probably won't happen.

Yes he is.

I doubt CBJ gets it done here. But I there is zero evidence that the decision makers are warming up his seat...especially if he has another par season. Where's your evidence outside of VN's merry band of misfits?

Butch is like a ticking time bomb.

Always manages to disarm at the right time.

It was an emotionally frustrating game with a fantastic outcome. Butch gets credit for that as much as the team. Mistakes were made, but we overcame them.

I'd say that house tumbled over last year but like any good talker he just rebuilt the house and acted like nothing ever happened. Just add some new coaches and players and voila!

Same car,new paint job over the bondo

We have to wait and see what happens when we start conference play. A bullet was dodged although we beat a team that we were favored against and didn't cover the spread. Still, we're 1-0. I don't think Butch's fate will be determined based on a firing decision this year. I do think that 4-5 losses will sour Currie's willingness to extend the contract and then Butch will probably ask Sexton to test the waters for him.

:) Exactly! Tell me you wouldn't be hearing that tick tock if we had not pulled that game out last night. Whether you like him or not, it's just UT football and we want success.

It is amazing to think that if GT had converted, this would be an entirely different discussion. One measly play for two points. These guys really to have to balance on a razor's edge.

This. Our administration is fine with Music City Bowls
