I believe that some sort of Domino effect occured when Danny O'brien was dismissed from the team.

Preston Williams left/quit.

Hurd left/quit.

Who's going to be next?

It DOES NOT MATTER the reason of why these players got dismissed/quit or whatever.

What matters is how Butch is going to deal with it in the LOCKER ROOM.

I don't think the entire team was saying "damn, if we could only get rid of those 3 guys, we'd win!"

Nope.. I guarantee some players on this team are still friends with them.

Whenever I had a long lasting co-worker leave their job or get promoted, my morale at my work would decline. It's natural to feel kind of stranded when your buddies leave.

I think Butch needs to figure out a way to get everyone on the same page... and not just allow the "players" to talk about it. It's not the same.

Figure what out? One guy failed his final whiz quiz and 2 others felt they were bigger than the team

Addition by subtraction (for the last two)

I'd say after their 4th trip to the top of Neyland, via the steps, their focus will be back.

How bout you just move on and cheer for the Vols on Saturday. Indications from the current players is that they are just fine.

Preston Williams was pushed away more than him leaving. The coaches did not try to stop him from moving on.

Butch needs to focus on ditching the read option and bringing better offensive coaches in next season. From what we have heard today, it sounds as if that's his gameplan. I hope he brings an S&C coach that focus more on explosive strength rather than strictly endurance training. I really feel this is where a lot of these injuries are stemming from.

gotta agree with this. Preston left because he couldn't handle the competition. Maybe he and Hurd were talking and stoking each others fires about leaving. Who knows. I don't think Butch even had a say so in O Brian leaving.

Im sure that's what you are gonna hear from them and Jones as well. Nobody is going public with that unless they are on the way out and some dont do it even then. The talk is just talk. The product is the product. Saturday nite had a lot more to do with a poorly prepared football team that it ever did one player. One that many here think is easily replaced anyway.

Quote from butch on Saturday:

"We learn about the value of being ready versus being prepared," Jones said.

You'll never see harbaugh,Saban,Meyer saying this.

For God's sake he is getting paid millions to have this team ready and he comes out with this trash?

I think we are trying to move on, but many of us are just waiting for the other "shoe" to drop.

The early skin of our teeth wins, in games that we should have cruised (at the time), worried us. We saw something was not right, but so many wanted to ignore it and just focus on the wins...well the wins have stopped...and we just suffered a huge upset loss...embarrassing loss.

We will beat little Tech this weekend, but we will have to play hard to win after this weekend. Can we do it? Sure, but something will have to be different.
