Butch: "Mark my words..."

Did you really say Kiffin?

I want some of what you're smoking.

Each season has had win improvement, including this one with a vandy and bowl game win.

I don't like Debord though.

Yet we haven't won the East in its worst shape it has ever been in.

Butch quotes after today's game

"Josh Dobbs, what can I say? Leader, resilient, just somebody you want leading your football team to beat such a great team like Missouri."

"What can I say about this football team such resilient kids in our locker room. I told you all that there was so much football to be played but now I have to eat my words. Wait did I mention how resilient our football team was today against such a quality opponent Missouri?"

"Again let me mention how much I just love Josh Dobbs. He brought this team out of the dumps."

"Mike DEBORD, what a great friend and coach. I think he's one of the best play callers in the nation"

"Our football team is just full of resolve, we are bowl eligible for 3 consecutive years and we got our sights set on another ring in the tax slayer bowl"

We beat Florida and are more likely to finish the season with a better record than them, and likely to get a good bowl game to bring prestige to UT.

But no, we didn't win the east so let's fire Butch and hire the moron that ditched his players year one.

.....you do realize how stupid that sounds right?

Florida is gonna get the same spanking they got last year.

"...there's a lot of football yet to be played."

Those were Butch's words following USCe, probably the worst loss of our decade of mediocrity. Well, as is often the case w/ Butch, these ended up just being another meaningless phrase in the year in which it was supposed to all come together.

Anyone who believes this season is anything other than a total failure is delusional. We couldn't even win the SEC East when it's at its worst in a generation, perhaps ever.

Now, much of our talent (those who haven't already left) will be moving on, & Jones has a stable of 3*'s replacing them. This was the year & he blew it by not having his team ready to play a truly awful USCe team with two weeks to prepare.

Time to rip off the band aid, move on, & hire Kiffin. And no, I'm not kidding.

So I guess you liked 5-6 better than 10-3? Smdh..

I can't wait to bump this thread next year after Kiffin smokes Lyle in year 1 with LSU...

Why would you enjoy that so much? Seems odd for a UT fan to wish for his team to get beat by a coach who left them in the middle of the night

Because you people are defending a very nice man, but an Big East football coach. He didn't cut this year, but you expect different results when he's rebuilding with lesser talent? Do ANY of you think we win the East next year? Do ANY of you believe Butch will be retained if he doesn't win next year?

If not Kiffin, then make a suggestion; but to just go on for another year & have less to sell a serious coach in the aftermath is foolish.

You would rather Butch fail than UT succeed. That's pathetic and then you top it off by suggesting kiffin.

Two things.

-It is a BLESSING we don't get another automatic loss attached to our record by playing and getting vaporized by Bama...in embarrassing fashion on national TV...AGAIN. We are not prepared to play them and compete. We just aren't...and everyone with a sane mind knows this.

-The fact that we WOULD be happy that we lost the east...and thusly avoiding another humiliating loss to Bama, is BS that we are in this kind of position. A position where we know we don't even belong in the same zip code as them. THAT...is an issue. We should not be THAT FAR away from Bama. But we are. That's an indisputable fact. That is the sad part. We're Tennessee..not friggin Austin Peay.

Okay I'm giving you 22 players and 11 can't make it half way through the season. WTH are you going to do?

STFU and stop the CBJ bashing.

Great shot at 10 wins with the injuries this team has suffered will be remarkable. FYI...1 east loss. Double ot loss at a&m and bummer.
A win next week gets us in a great bowl game.

You are an idiot if you think hiring kiffin back would be a good idea.

Unrealistic fan!

I think it's been a pretty good year and Butch is handling things pretty well.

Right...

He hired an incompetent DC
Has an OC that put us in a whole all season
Lost to SC
With his best team had to beg teams to lose
Said FU to the fans...

Yea he's handling it really well.

Butch is failing on his own. 4 years in and no Atlanta. Florida changes coaches and goes 2-2. Butch is Florida's MVP. As he will continue to be..

Maybe he said that about fans because many are spoiled whiny asshats

Anything short of a natty and people would whine. Even with a natty I think some fans would whine

Have you seen UT football the last 10 years? We aren't spoiled. The best thing we had a was a true VFL for a coach who had more emotion for the program than any fan. Now we got a guy named Lyle who's a stubborn ass child.
