I know his annual pay doesn't really work this way, but his 4.11 million a year equates to $11,260.27 each day of the year. Since they say that college football is a year round job every day of the week with no breaks.........

Do you think Butch is producing $11,260.27 worth of quality work each day?

Losing season Fulmers last year, 7-6 in Kiffins only year, 3 straight losing seasons under Dooley, Butch will have us our first 3 straight winning seasons since 02-04.

In summary, not worth it. I'd do it much cheaper and have better results. End thread.

Is he producing at a rate to justify your money going towards $11,260.27 a day? Valid question......

He is the ninth highest paid coach in the league. You can be unhappy with his performance, but if your point is that he is over paid. Well, that is just stupiidity.

If I was making that much money, I could hire a PI to find out who some of the whiny fans are, and pay some Billy Madison types to make their lives a living hell.

Consider yourself fortunate.

Or, here's another way to look at it.

You get paid for results, right? So this year's salary is based on last year's results.

Butch: $4.1M for 9 wins = $456K per win.
Saban: $7.3M for 14 wins = $521K per win.
Meyer: $6.5M for 12 wins = $542K per win.
Harbaugh: $9.0M for 10 wins = $900K per win.

As long as Butch's pay continues to run commiserate with his results, I'm not seeing the financial kerfuffle.

As another already said: football coaches are grossly overpaid. Other than that, there's not much of a message here.

Comparatively? yes, but if you are asking is Butch's performance compared to other coaches with similar scope, size and expectations vs. other Universities in the SEC.......then he is probably under performing.........but I did not do real research into my answer, if W vs. L is your primary measurement in performance he is performing at >50% of the conference, if your primary measurement is the expectations of a uninformed and highly unrealistic and violent fan base, he is underachieving......it just feels that way.
