Thank you all. My brother was a trooper and affected so many lives with that smile. I'm gonna mail out the letter today. I just hope coach sees it and knows how much me and my mom appreciated the time he took before the game to meet with my brother.

A few years back a family friend's little boy was in children's hospital with meningitis. He was a huge Vol fan. I contacted the AD and they told coach Jones the situation. He signed pictures, t-shirts, schedules, etc and wrote a little note on each one. When I gave the kid all of that he lit up like a Christmas tree.

No matter what he does on the field, Butch is 100% first class in several people's hearts in my hometown.

Does anybody know a way that I could get a address to mail a letter to him? Long story is back in 2014, himself and the dream connection put together a way for my brother to go to Knoxville and see the neyland experience first Hand. My brother w ads probably the biggest vols fan you would ever meet. He couldn't talk but he knew when the pride formed the T or heard Rocky Top. My brother was wheelchair bound and couldn't not talk due to being born with celebrate palsy. It took a lot of planning but they pulled it off. He got to tour neyland, get on the field before gates open, even met with his favorite players such as pig Howard, Todd Kelly and even met with coach Fulmer before the team got there. Coach Jones and the players didn't know my brother from anything but they each one stopped and a talked to him on the way to the locker room. I thanked him then for his generosity. This past May, the good lord came and took my brother home. My brother was always sick his whole life and I wanna thank coach Jones and staff for that day cause I honestly believe it helped keep my brother alive longer. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I have pictures and channel 8 in Knoxville even covered if anyone would like to see them.

I sent a letter addressed to him to the athletic department and I received 2 personal autographed posters from him about a month or 2 later. Of course it was in the summer so he was probably more accessible. But just try the AD and it worked for me.

I did the same a long time ago with Coach Pat and she also sent my daughter and niece autographed photos -- I would say they all get the mail sent there. And Op sorry about your loss

just my opinion and I am sorry for your loss and so happy he and all of you had that experience but I would not contact butch jones..what would be the purpose? I would think it an imposition, really. I am sure you guys expressed your gratitude when ut and jones helped put together a great day.

I read the article. Really neat that his favorite player was Pig and got to hold his jersey. I bet he liked the cheerleaders! I've never been even close to a situation like that, but I bet those make some pretty awesome memories.

I think letting CBJ know what a positive impact he made on that young man's last days would absolutely not be an imposition. Sometimes when things get tough & crazy in our lives, it helps to know how something we did made a difference.
