I don’t think we should be mad at him for the money aspect of it. Be mad at the administration. Butch was smart enough to cash in and take care of his family for life. It sucks that it didn’t work out the way all of us wanted it to, but can’t blame him for getting his $$.

Glad it clicked for you. I'm busy filling out an application for the Arizona job myself. Who knew getting hired as a head coach of a football program was as simple as filling out a paper job application?

I went ahead and bought plane tickets to Tucson so I can have a walk in interview Monday. It's going to be so epic. I'm wearing my best Walmart button up. You know, since I just set up interviews myself when I'm job searching for a head coaching job.

Under qualified to coach there. Lol... Their coach won't go for throwing a play action pass on 1st and goal from the 1 , than calling time and doing it again.

Yup, agreed.

Sorry, but CBJ averaged about 6 regular season wins per year over an half decade at UT...bottom line, CBJ couldn't cut it at an elite level. UT's an elite program. So, boo freakin whoo...he made more money every 90 days, than a vast majority of fans can save over a lifetime. Cry me a river, please!

It's good for him to take a break from the collegiate level and have some much needed time with family. He's probably missed a lot of his sons career and this could be an opportunity to try and make up for loss time.

Hope Volnation doesn't get in the way of this happening if it is wan5ed by both parties.

Well the guy I responded to was talking about all the talent Knoxville Catholic was pipelining to Clemson. Yes I knew Harrison Smith played for them, but they have no historical funneling of star talent to D1 football.

I know they have built a strong program especially since they relocated the campus to the west side of Knoxville, and they have sent some good players to the next level. I am just calling someone out for making like they were busing players from their graduation ceremony straight to Dabo and Clemson.

There were equally a thousand or so that said he wasn't/isn't/never was coming to UT and these were ignored. Chuckie gets the VN troll of 2017 award hands down!

I guess I am going to be THAT guy but I did talk to someone yesterday very much in the know and Butch has asked to be WR coach at Knoxville Catholic if he does not get a job elsewhere. His kids go to school there and I think he just does not want to get bored.

You only get true "insider" status if you can tell us (even if it's a lie) that an MOU was signed.

Or...tell us that you and MIT Beaver were sitting at the bar at the Honors Course drinking Scotch after your round was cancelled due to the weather and he heard the same thing.
