Let's face it, he's the new Mark Richt. He'll get you nine or ten wins in a GOOD year, but that's it

Richt won a few championships. Butch is no Richt.
if we are sticking with Georgia comparisons, Butch is Ray Goff - and a poor man's ray goff at that.

Butch hasn't gotten us to 10 wins yet and 9 wins only once. We'll be fortunate to get to 10 this year. Hard to compare him to Richt at this point.

And Richt could develop talent. Look at how their QB's played under him.

Butch is a nice guy, a family man, he doesn't take cheap shots at other schools or their coaches, a good recruiter, he can repeat the say descriptive words about a game or person thousands of time. However, he can't coach in the SEC, when you lose to a trashy team like USCjr, and a QB that is barely a Freshman, and you have QBs sitting on the bench that might be better than Dobbs.............and DeBorg.........well, friendship just cost your job or the university will require some changes.......and will Butch fire a mentor and a friend...........my bet.....he will resign.....he has that kind of character.

Richt averaged nearly 10 wins a year in the toughest conference for over a decade, so no there's not really a comparison.

He's a great coach, but like Fulmer he let players get away with a lot.

Yeah, but unlike Phil, that's not what cost Richt his job. This is the SEC baby, and if you can't get a championship it don't mean a thing, and ten wins a year didn't cut it.

It sure didn't help him.

UT fans need to appreciate what Butch has done with this program off the field. This program isn't perfect but it's no longer major embarrassment off the field like back when Fulmer was the coach. Dobbs is the poster child for the term Student-Athlete.
