As much as it pains me to say this...I think Jones has another year! However, he will have to clean house, I'm thinking Debord survives, Shoop goes. Unless there is someone out there hiding in the shadows we don't know about, we have no one to replace him with. Part of the problem is that SEC teams are too quick to fire Coaches. We are constantly comparing ourselves with Alabama. Alabama has something special we may likely never see again in our lifetimes once Saban leaves. To put these expectations on our coaches is unfair. I'm not trying to be a Jones pusher at this point, as like ya'll I'm pissed this morning. One thought I have (or wondering), is that the SEC may overall be a strong conference, which makes the entire conference look horrible once we've played each other. Even if that were the case, I have a hard time reconciling a loss to both SC and Vandy!

Too many problems that couldn't be overcome... Like S Carolina and Vandy? I'm sorry, but those are games where we should be giving our backups work up 21 in the 4th quarter. Time to pack it up, Butch.

Agreed Sara, Butch will have another year and Shoop MUST GO! I remember when Ken Donahue was DC in the mid 80's. He made sure that defense was tough as nails and it showed as they dismantled a highly vaulted Miami team led by Vinnie Testeverde

This is simple as I see it. We got worse as the season went along, not better. Injuries you say? It's his job to COACH the 2nd string up. 4 mil a year and this is as good as he can do? It's not that I don't like him. It's not that he needs more time. It's that he simply isn't capable. He's proven this through 4 years. It was embarrassing to see him fall to his knees and sob after the UGA hailmarry. Its embarrassing to have all the returning talent and 3 years of top recruits end up 8-4, and it should've been 6-6. We haven't showed up prepared for a game all year. We played catch-up week after week to start then we just get out played and out coached the second half of the year. People can continue to make excuses but dog-paddling along with a sub-midiocre coach will hurt more in the long run than cutting bait and starting over now. And I mean put up whatever $ is necessary and bring in someone who knows football. Who knows how to manage a game, make adjustments, and use the talent he has to its top potential. AND bring in good quality assistant coaches who know how to teach these kids. Butch can't do any of these things. He belongs where he came from, a mid-major.

Jones is not the answer. He's a mid-level coach with no clue about defense ... and he doesn't care to learn. He's stubborn. He's in love with boobish, psycho-babble bull. Too many players give up on him and his system.

He's a good, decent man. But he's not a good enough coach to win a championship at Tennessee.

Time to part ways. Maybe the Michigan State job will become available and by sone miracle, they want Jones. Hey, one can dream, right?

Why does Butch need more time ? Florida and the beaver boy are going to the SEC championship HIS FIRST TWO YEARS ON THE JOB? I've heard it said best as Butch is our Ron Zook. He got recruiting up so now lets get a coach to coach them.

Why do you think you have to support Butch? The truth is you don't have to support him at all, especially when you have been given ample prove that he is not the ideal man for the job. He has been compensated very well for his time here and for what he has done and its time to move on. This program needs our support right now not Butch and the staff, and the best thing for the program is to move on as soon as possible.

Here's the bottom line champ and this is from someone who's been through about five coaching changes not one. In a year when it took 6-2 record to go to the Championship game and avoid losing to Vanderbilt to go to the ****ing Sugar Bowl, This motivational genius couldn't get either accomplished. Couldn't get a team up with three times the talent to be a putrid South Carolina crap team and then laid a ****ing egg against Vanderbilt of all people. You can ****ing have him.
