You are exactly correct. This goes back to that POS Mike Hamilton who ruined every UT athletic program.

Dooley’s teams was actually able to move the ball on offense and score touchdowns but the defense was horrendous.

However, Butch’s teams doesn’t have a balance offense that can score TDs but the defense is average. (Not great) Just imagine how last year would have turnt out if we didn’t have Dobbs to make plays with his legs?

We might have had an losing record with 6 NFL Draft picks... Let that sink in for a minute.

My personal opinion, I think both hires are about even. Both have no business coaching in the SEC.

I would take Dooley and his staff with Wilcox and Butches talent. Wilcox had some good defenses when he was here.

Well, statistically CBJ defense is worse than DD. In the last year, they have set all time records on defense, not the good kind.

Probably because CBJ was at Cincinnati??? Butch is done here, but he was obviously better than Dooley. That game doesn't change anything.

I think Sgt Carter has done a good job of bringing the program back to respectability. Unfortunately due to some good luck the results look better than they should and people were buying into the BS he was spouting. He can recruit but not coach or hire good coaches. I think he has done a better job than Dooley but after the U Mass, Georgia and S Carolina games this years team looks like one Dooley's teams which is ridiculous given the talent on this team.

The question is who left it in worse shape? Obviously Dooley BUT he gave Butch a very talented OL, 4 of 5 at least got a sniff of the NFL. Talent wasn't void as some claim. Second part is Butch is driving it back to the same ditch quickly, even talent wise.

Both are absolutely horrible in game coaches. Neither have a clue. At least Butch could recruit. But can't do anything with it.

We disagree. I believe Dooley was actually a good in game coach. He was just bad at literally everything else. He didn't work at all (recruit). He didn't create a positive culture. He was arrogant and rubbed everyone the wrong way (from players, to opposing coaches, to athletic dept personnel)
