Butch Jones Battle At Bristol Press Conference

Sitting here watching Florida State and Ole Miss, it makes want to cry. The passing games on display in this game make ours look like Pop Warner league.

Did anyone ask Butch why are big 5 star WR Malone, who made the biggest play of the game, only had a few touches? Or why home-run threat Kamara only had 6 touches?? And why we are not utilizing Dobbs best skill set???

Whatever makes you feel better about that performance bro. I'm a realist. New year...Same Dobbs. Hasn't improved his pocket passing any from last year. You guys want to hang your hat on that TD pass, but he missed countless other big plays throughout the game and should have thrown a pick six at one point.
Ah the obligatory "I'm a realist" smh.

“We definitely did some good things,”-Josh Dobbs in regards to the passing game. If he really believes that, he is delusional.

They did 2 good things.

1. They got PWill involved early. For some unknown, unexplainable reason, after having some success with him, they just stopped.

2. They threw one ball deep and it was the reason they were able to get the game to OT and not lose in regulation.

In the grand scheme of things, that ain't much, but at least it was something.

I don't understand the whole "we would've liked to have gotten Kamara more involved" BS. If you want to get him involved then damnit, get him involved! Nothing is stopping you but yourself. How hard is it to call a play that's designed around him?

This feels exactly like it came out of last year's post-game comments.:loco:

That 63 yard bomb was an under thrown ball that JM made a great play on against an undersized CB. That wasn't a great throw by Dobbs. Any "rational" person could see that. If anyone thinks there were several positives from what we saw in the passing game Thursday night, I suggest you open your eyes because nothing about Dobbs performance was encouraging.

You need to brush up on reading comprehension. Dobbs never said that he was on fire and all-pro. He literally just said that they did some good things.

That ball was under-thrown and it was a good thing that the WR caught it and scored. (The WR, a part of the "we" passing unit Dobbs referenced.)

All those first downs that Dobbs threw were good things as well.

There were some bad things of concern as well.

Geez, Louise. If you want to trash the guys, knock yourself out. But I advise you find legitimate ways and things to trash and not make yourself look like an ignorant illiterate by picking the wrong battles.

This thread serves one purpose that I can see. To prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that we have some ignorant, miserable, whiny ***, crybaby SOBs on this board. Some of y'all either need Xanax or sex in a BAD way.

This *100. It's been 5 days. Get over it and move on to the next one. The coaches and players have ID'd issues from Game 1 and in all likelihood already have solutions. No reason to dwell on it from a fan perspective.

Sure is better to be UT right now than some of those bad losses. I'll take a scary win over a bad loss every day. After a scary win, you can work to improve on mistakes, all while being 1-0. After a bad loss, you work to improve mistakes at 0-1.

I saw with my own two eyes that Byrd was on offense in the second half

For the record, here's the official breakdown according to Scout....your eyes didn't deceive you Rev, Byrd got in for 6 plays.....

"Josh Malone was a workhorse, playing every single offensive play from scrimmage. Preston Williams played 32 of the total 36 first-half plays while playing less in the second half partly due to an injury midway thru the fourth quarter. Williams finished with 45 reps. Josh Smith registered 56 plays while Jauan Jennings played much more in the second half than the first with a total 26 plays. Tyler Byrd was the lone freshman to see action and got just six reps."
