Butch Jones back in Knoxville

Unfortunately, he also coached here in ‘16 and ‘17 as well. Higgins, Rodgers, Phillips (Jacob) and Stephens for example. Tennessee talent that left for Clemson and LSU. He couldn’t keep Hurd here either.
8 of the top 10 in Tn are going elsewhere this year

This dude is a clown. I hate the fact that basically UT is paying him to recruit against UT.

I dont dislike Dooley or Jones. If I was offered the HC job at Tennessee at the time I would have taken the job also. I am pissed at the person that hired them. I just cant blame them for taking a good job. Time to move on.

I heard from a guy who heard from a guy who overheard some people at the unemployment office saying Butch was in town for a haircut.

I know I'm not supposed to care, but I hate Butch exponentially more than Dooley at this point.
You can make an argument that Butch was a worse coach than Dooley.

On the surface, it sounds odd because Butch went 34-27 overall (.557) to Dooley's 15-21 (.417). Dooley was a God-awful 4-19 (.174) to Butch's 14-24 (.368) in conference play. Butch also made it to 3 bowl games in 5 years (winning all of them), had winning seasons 3 out of 5 years, and had 2 9-win seasons. Dooley went to one bowl game in 3 years (lost) and never had a winning season.

However, when you compare Butch's recruiting classes to Dooley's, it is pretty easy to see that Butch got far less out of his talent than Dooley got out of his. If Butch was coaching Dooley's teams, it seems entirely possible that Butch might not have won a single conference game.

Perhaps the biggest indictment against Butch though is that he unquestionably left the program in worse shape than Dooley did. Dooley, as bad of a coach as he was, did leave Butch with some pieces of a functioning team. Butch left Pruitt with absolutely nothing except squandered talent.

irks me that Butch is sticking it to us by not having Bama pay him anything close to market value for the job that he seems to be doing for them. I'd love to see UT step up and dock his buyout by the difference
