I actually think it isn't the young fans, its the older fans who have no perspective about how low we were jut a couple years ago. they think we should be stoping everyone by 21+. but really they will just never be happy no matter what. i forget who said this last week, but someone said most of the people who post on here would kill the golden goose for not laying twice a day. spot on

Most people call it 'Expectations and Standards'. If you are happy with a 2 point win, that is your so called ceiliing. To expect TN to go out and win games, not by just one or two, but by many, isn't all that horrible of an idea. IF...TN wants to be an elite team, a "Dynasty" as I have seen many post in here, winning by one-sys and two-sys against weak opponents certainly isn't going to get you there.

The people getting upset over a poll that simply gauges the opinions of VN members and basically calling it a negavol thing really reinforces the "no criticism allowed" accusations. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely happy with the win but there were plenty of things that deserve concern. I do find humor in the same crowd that a few weeks ago were chastising people for just looking at wins and losses justifying yesterday's game with a win is a win.

I think you should stop having neutral as an option. If a fan can't decide they should not vote, and if a fan can't decide, what would it take for them to be able to make up their mind?

Good win, Negavols be patient, we will lose again, and then start your bashing, until then enjoy the ride, if it don't give you a heart attack.

It is interesting to me that to some on here our National Championship year would be substandard. There were a few games that year that we really struggled to win and we had one moment of divine intervention to boot.

Football is just like this. Some games just don't go well and the team doesn't put a team away like they should. Also, no team is ever a finished product. There will always be areas that need improvement. Coaches and players alike. However, It is ALWAYS a good win when you beat an SEC opponent.

5 times out of 9 games we've blown a lead

3 of those 5 were 14 points or more

There is a pattern
Yep, I expect this trend of us going conservative with the lead will continue to be a problem under Butch. Even if he does ultimately have a successful career here, this is gonna bite us again. Butch just doesn't think it's a problem.

Overall, I still support butch, but his football iq and stubbornness worry me. Much of my support is by default bc 2016 is the year of judgement.

There's no questioning that this is a better football team than past years but there's some very concerning issues with this staff when it comes to in game adjustments and sitting on leads. Mistakes will be made with any staff and team...the thing is that you have to learn from mistakes or it will repeat itself. Butch snapping at reporters ab needing positive reporting is very frustrating. Grow a set of balls butch and keep your foot on the gas like last week, and the critics will quiet down.

We won the game and didn't lose. I find it funny that people on here whine when the team loses and also whine when the team wins. Ya'll are unbelievable. :eek:lol:

He's not going anywhere and there's not a d@mn thing you can do about it. So STFU and enjoy the win.

Hey man that was the result of that poll. Argue with all of those who wanted him gone. And no I won't personally have anything to do with him leaving. He'll bring that on all by himself. Some of the coach worshippers on here really like to tell non Butch supporters what to do. I do appreciate the fans on here who can just respectfully agree to disagree without having to result to name calling. Not that I really care what random message board posters think of me.

I'm just curious, you folks that want Butch fired, how many wins in 2016 will it take to get you off his back. Does he need to win the east?, SEC? Make the playoffs?

Conversely, you folks that think Butch is the second coming of the General, what will it take in 2016 for you to go all "Dooley" on him? 5-7, 6-6, 7-5? Lose to Bama, GA, and FL? How many more years do you give him to win the east, SEC?

I don't think Butch is an SEC championship caliber coach. I'll say that until he proves me wrong.

As for 2016, I would say anything short of 10-2 with a win over either Florida or Alabama would be a pretty big disappointment.

This proves how fickle so many fans are. There's no long term view for most-- it's a yes or no each week, depending on a win or a loss.

Does anyone find it odd or disturbing at the way Coach Jones was jumping around before running through the T? He just looked very strange and didn't get a response from the players around him. I think they have grown tired of his antics, especially on the sideline. He needs to stay calm and manage the game, the called TO was a total screwup.

You come to that conclusion just watching the team come out of the tunnel?

Gotta agree with Carl on this one. Turn overs, bad field conditions and penalties made this one closer than it should of been.

Disagree. I thought in the entire second half that we were getting beat on both sides at the line of scrimmage. The USC coach made some great adjustments that changed the whole momentum of the game.
