I think as important as getting a "signature win" is finishing out the year beating he teams you should.

Tennessee should win out except Bama. If he does that, people will feel a whole lot better

This is a great way to see just how fickle some of our fans are. No sense of seeing progress and building the program, just a "what have you done for me lately" mentality.

I have been hard on this staff and to be honest, they needed criticism. Yesterday's game showed me that Butch and staff have potential, but outwitting Richt ain't the same as Saban or other coaches in the SEC. With that being said, If Jones keeps evolving, I think he can be a good coach. The Georgia game was night and day difference. Protecting a lead and playing scared won't allow you success in SEC ball. There's just too much talent on both sides of the ball. Some people just love being negative for the sake of their agenda (like believing that Peyton or Gruden are just waiting to jump in there...ain't ever gonna happen). You gotta call an ace an ace and a spade a spade. That was a good win for Butch Jones and company. Keep it up and GO VOLS!!!

If this poll was done at the end of the year, you will get a more accurate result. because some posters on VN are bipolar. One week we approve of Jones and the other week we don't approve of Jones IMO.

Sorry but the Vols don't have top 10 talent just yet, on paper maybe, but not on the field talent, not close..

That's part of the point though. Tennessee continues to not make plays at times that could change the course of the game....those 2 dropped ints pretty much meant that Georgia needed to drop that wide open TD catch and throw for Tennessee to hang on to win.

That makes no sense.
We missed plays also including the interception on the same series.
But had Ga scored, most likely just ties the game.


Now, for the players won not the coaches crowd.
You don't get both ways.
It's a team effort on losses and wins.

He coached in a win 2 yrs ago against a goood SC team at home and finished 5-7.

Still more games left and I want to see consistency with the staff. November, barring a major injury bug, will tell us if their is improvement

We should be 6-0 right now, no doubt about it. The talent of this team has produced significant leads in each of the first 5 games and was good enough to come back from a 21 point deficit yesterday. 6-0 right now would definitely put us in the top 10. Jmo.

Yep building a NC caliber team, but(why I voted in middle) will the coaching be good enough to win it!
I hope the answer is yes and jones is here for a long time but I don't think it will unless he replaces some assistants.

So let me see if I understand what you said, UT won, it's because "the players won it", and when UT lost it was because of Butch Jones???

Wouldn't that have become a tied ballgame and given us the ball with the new intention of scoring instead of trying to run out the clock? You have no clue what would have happened, only that there would have been a late tie. Dobbs could have ended the game with 400 yards passing, another 15 on the ground, and given Medley a 20-yarder for the win.
