A win over a ranked opponent who's only loss prior was to a team that will probably finish in the top 5.

I'm behind him more than I was walking out of the stadium last weekend

We have some piss poor posters in here. What I am seeing is a staff that is elevating the play of its players. We come out ready to play and take the fight to our opponents right out of the tunnel. The only reason we trailed early in this game is because of mistakes -- our own and the zebras (picked up flag on block in the back is one of the biggest officiating travesties I've ever seen and even Danielson stated so in a nicer way).

However, contrary to the numerous stupid posts on here, this team has not quit on its coaches. Quite to the contrary. If at first the breaks go against you, PUT ON MORE EFFING STEAM. And they have done that. In spades.

Look, you can say otherwise, but this team is still exceptionally young. But I love watching players like McKenzie, Tuttle (cheap shotted), Kirkland, Jones, Hall and crew -- note how many true freshmen we are still playing dumb arses -- grow up before our very eyes.

We will still have ups and downs this season and 8-4 would be a monumental achievement with our youth. I've been critical of Butch, but I'm proud he is our coach. I'm going to enjoy watching this team grow up. The good and the bad.

Step back, take a deep breath, and ENJOY THE RIDE.

I'm 100% behind him now. Can't say that I felt the same last week. Today's win really could pay HUGE dividends. I'd say it's the best win in 7-8 years IMO.

Gotta be willing to take the good with the bad here on out. There will be at least another stinker in there.

I'm with Butch through 2016 either way. I've been critical, and he needs to improve too, but I have been all along.

In the middle coming up from Strongly no. Good win, but that doesn't change the fact that we could very well be 6-0.

Y'all saw that uga dropped td, right?

I saw Alex Ellis' dropped TD, I saw a bad angle on a tackle and a missed sack on Florida's winning TD

it's almost as if 1 play, made or missed, can flip the outcome of a game, regardless of coaching

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally

If Ellis catches the TD against Oklahoma and the DBs take a better angle against Florida on their TD, do you suddenly think blind Butch found 3 nuts? Or does he suddenly turn into a great coach who lost one game against an Arkansas team that came to play?

I've been a Vol fan for 20 years. I live in GA and hear them doing that gay bark and say "dawgs on top" for no reason. I ride or die with this team, I love this school/team. To the people who wanted to rid Butch Jones you're retarteded! We don't win this game without him, we don't compete in previous games without him. He has turned this program around... He is legit and this team is on the rise! The same could have been said about Dobbs today. I was ready to sit Dobbs mid 2nd qtr but he/we didn't and he balled the **** out! We're still extremely young and very talented but today, TODAY I'm proud to rep my team and Butch is the man for the job. Now, let's enjoy a buy week stay hungry and beat the **** outta Bama.

Those ifs and butts may have made a difference but his poor coaching and selection of piss poor coordinators stands regardless of this win. Show it for more than one game and I will gladly eat crow but I refuse to be a bandwagon jumper after one game n

I still voted no, because I was at no strongly previously. No sense in saying I believe if I don't.

But I HOPE this isn't the only big win this season. I hope he's learned to coach with his gut. I hope he's going to be more than he's been.

But he earned today, I'll gladly admit that.

Most positive thing I've ever seen you post!

The players won this.....This win doesn't change the fact that Butch Jones is not a good game day coach.

We have the talent to be in the top 10 esp this year considering their is no clear cut power, instead we're 3-3. Butch Jones lost us 3 key games in year 3 by decisions he is paid millions to make, just saying!

Go Vols!!!

Yes your right the coaches didn't have anything to do with this win!

GTFO

I have been a HUGE supporter of Coach Jones since the day he was hired. Butch is the right coach at the tight time for Tennessee.
I would ask those who aren't sure, to understand that he took on the job of building our Football program to compete, and win..NOT in some soft, weak conference with only one or two strong programs...but, remember folks, this is the SEC. Takes a little longer..the young talent has to come along a little further.
We'll be fine, and the WORST thing that could happen at this point would be to go through another coaching change.
The Vols aren't getting wiped out in the losses they have suffered...they aren't being pounded 20-30 points by the competition. I know..an "L" is still an "L", but at this point...we're seeing a program grow from nothing, and I'm willing to be patient.

Players continue to play inspired football, same as every game this season. Staff was aggressive when they got behind 21 points, sad to see the 3 QB keepers when the game was on the line and they had 12 men on the LOS. Our punter made a huge play and their receiver dropped a perfectly thrown pass. The breaks went our way and its about time! I'm in the middle.
