He recruits very well and will soon put teams out there that just out talent all the opponents...much like Fulmer did during his run as HC (and I think that has been the Bama plan under Satan)...and I expect Butch to stumble into some championships over the next decade...the question is: Is DeBord Butch's Cutcliffe or will he need to find a better OC?

Minus a NC, 2 SEC titles. No where near as good as Fulmer. Fulmer was conservative yes, Butch takes it to another level.

Lol. A 14-15 coach who can't coach his way out of a wet paper sack is equal to a hall of fame, national championship winning coach who was 152-52? What?? When Fulmer absorbs a 45 point loss or blows a 17 point 4th quarter lead in Neyland, feel free to get back to us. Until then, please don't mention Butch's name in the same sentence as Phil's

First off, Until Butch appears even remotely possible of finishing his career 100 games over .500, let's not make comparisons. Debord and Cut are not even close to comparable, and given the Debord is like 80 years old, yes, we'll need a different OC.

Fulmer recruited well, and had a great staff around him to compliment him. When he had a subpar OC (Sanders) he still had enough talent from recruiting that the Vols were contenders on the national scene. 2005 was a year where lack of leadership on the roster along with Sanders finally being exposed as an inadequate OC led to an underachieving season. Chief's defense in 05 was ridiculously good. Recruiting took a hit, and after hiring another in-over-his- head OC, Phil didn't have the players to out talent teams in the SEC anymore. Until Butch gets the guys around him who he can trust to run things while he acts as a front man/cheerleader/fundraiser, he'll never compete in the SEC on the level that Phil did.

Don't be so disrespectful! Rottweiler Phil knew not only how to recruit player but he knew more importantly how to recruit great coaches and leaders around him. Out side of Coach G, Strip, and Thig CBJ has left a lot to desired with his coaching staff.

DeBord is more like CBJ's Sal Suneri
