yes, butch has recruited well. but the x's and o's have not shown on the field.

lets ditch the hope and let the results dictate our future. if butch can develop players and win on the field, then he is the guy for the job.

in the meantime, lets chill on this debate that butch should stay if we have another 8 win season. those that support this program have determined that UT should compete for a SEC / National Championship.

Recruiting has NEVER been better than what he has and will put together over the next few years. All you w your pitch forks blaming him for everything that doesn't go perfect for this team are downright pathetic. Last year didn't go as he planned either ... so what does he do just sit around feeling sorry for himself , talk about working like heck etc. Nope , he goes out and gets the best people he can find to make us better. I agree with most of your statements. I am not a NEGA. People on here that TALK ABOUT FACTS don't make them a NEGA. They have a right to their opinion. I graduated from UT in 89. I would never try to tear down my beloved Vols. But, Butch does have to show better game management and the ability to win the games UT should win even with a depleted roster.

By the way, the best recruiting classes ever in the history of UT Football is inaccurate. Fulmer even in his down years had the number 2, 11, 18, 4, 23, and 3 his last six classes for an average recruiting class of 10th in the country. Butch's classes are 13, 5, 5, 15, 15 for an average of 10th as well. But, Fulmer's last 6 years in recruiting had people saying Fulmer was lazy. The 2018 class rankings aren't finalized until February. The 2018 class probably won't be in the top 10 when it is all said and done. How can you say the RECRUITING IS THE BEST IT HAS EVER BEEN? Are you a teenager that wasn't around in the late 90's and early 00's?

The team that showed up in the first half against Virginia Tech and Florida was a shell of the team picked to be in Atlanta. Plus it took a miraculous last second hail mary beat Georgia. The only time last season we played like a complete team was 2nd half against Florida. Open your eyes, man. Injuries weren't the only problem with this team last year. Besides, like I said in an earlier post, Florida sustained a ton of injuries last year too and all they did was beat LSU in Death Valley and win the east. What did we do? Lose to South Carolina and Vanderbilt.

And they are all of equal talent... underrated 4 stars sprinkled with 5 stars of the right heart that are already meshing together better then last years team. Look at my team, A&M. Sumlin is in year 6. Yes, he's still recruiting well. We only lost to Bama by 19 at their place and we were winning at halftime.

Yet, we lost to Ole Miss and State, whom we should never lose to. Y'all lost to SC and Vandy, whom you should never lose to.

Personally, I'd rather have Jones than coach hip hop (Sumlin).

It is either extreme optimism to the point of betting your home that we beat Alabama or extreme outrage, misery and demanding everyone be fired today. No middle ground allowed. There is only one reasonable fan. His name is Behr. He doesnt really take a stance, but makes slick comments. Every once in a while Vollygirl will pop in out of knowwhere and put you in your place if you are out of line. We also have a few that never go back and forth and just pop in and drop good info like fingers, LSW or something.

Just remember, only extremes, no middle ground and youll get along just fine.
