Swain crushed him this morning as well. Even said he and other former UT WRs are pissed and, based on their current awful passing game, think they should just drop the whole Wide Receiver U stuff.

I couldn't agree more, How stupid does it sound for them to get into a pissing contest with Clemson over WRU and then have North with 3 touches 2 weeks in, Vonn nothing, Pig a little, Malone a little. sure as hell aren't air raid sirens going off in Knoxvegas.

I thought the passing game was going to be better (WRU) hype and I agree....shocked we went for the FG instead of 7

Its a learning experience for all. UF last year and OU this year. The key is to learn from it. If we have another game like we saw on Saturday then Butch will be roasted.

It was good to see him take responsibility in his press conference but I need to see action. We aren't there yet. I want a coach who is aggressive in his play style and goes for the win in a aggressive style instead of being conservative and protecting a lead.

We will win 9 games. Then all of you that have jumped ship can go find new teams maybe start pulling for vandy either way true vol fans don't need you.

I have opinions about what went wrong. But the bottom line is that in his two biggest home games huge fan support checkered stadium a chance to take that next step with the program when its crunch time Butch and this staff have managed to blow big 4th quarter leads and pull defeat from the jaws of victory.

Here's hoping they don't feel the pressure as much on the road and win in Gainesville. Otherwise CBJ is going to be stuck with the underachiever label by most of the media and fan base. Maybe not completely fair but when you make that kind of money you can't keep stepping on your ding dong in big moments and expect a lot of accolades.

That was 1980. I was at Neyland for the game. This was Herschel's first game. Also, Majors didn't sit on the ball. UT was driving for the win with < 3 minutes left. UT fumbled on the UGA 2, and UGA recovered the fumble.

My my how quick we turn on Butch! Play calling did get to conservative but Oklahoma made some good adjustments at half. Everyone needs to back off the ledge. We will be fine!

You don't just auto explode into the hurry up, you work your way up into a rhythm. There are also times you want to slow it down though so it's more about tempo than hurry up.

Move on to what can still be a good season it stinks we lost I know should be 2-0 but we are 1-1 which is where we thought we would be before the season honestly. Have a nice day Doyle try to smile laugh whatever gets you through the day.

It's just the alasalami wannabes having a hissy fit. This is not pro football guys, it's college ball, and we are one of the youngest teams in the land. Pretty simple. You are making this way harder than it needs to be. Some of these Butch complainers are hell raisers no matter what, some are from the instant gratification generation, some are wolves in sheep clothes (they like this board). No matter how you slice it it makes recruiting more difficult for him.

Let's talk after Butch chokes at Florida.

I had my lingering doubts, but I'm now prepared to bet serious money that we lose to Florida and McElwain becomes the third strait UF coach who never lost to UT.

For the love of God, this. This times a thousand. I know it makes some posters feel good to come on here and beat their chest about what a "true" fan they are, but discussing the program in a rational manner does not make anyone less of a fan. Can we just head this off now before the nonsense gets started??

Yes, I believe he did. That was right after Evan Berry's good kick return that got called back on a penalty. If there had been no penalty, I think they would have tried to get into position for a field goal. But after the penalty, they were backed up around the 20.

At the time, I thought not trying to get into position for a FG was similar to Dooley's 2012 Mizzou game fiasco. But, there were two big differences...this was against a good OU defense and Dobbs doesn't have Bray's arm, so it didn't bother me quite as much.

You can keep your self imposed title. All true fans are not blind to mistakes made Saturday by the coaching staff, only the naïve ones. If Butch wins another 8 games it means he learned from the crappy calls on Saturday. I hope he does.
