Here are my short thoughts:

#1) If Malone, Ellis and a couple more make those catches it is a game still.

#2) We are not WRU any more. With our style of offense we need one WR with speed to be a "Percy Harvin" like player and I think we have that in PIG, others have not touched the ball hardly at all.

#3) Not using Hurd from the 6 inch line, Former Vols Daniel Hood tweeted and said it best, Name me a premier top notch coach that kicks there.

#4) Where were the Dobbs designed runs

#5) Way too conservative.

That dropped pass by Alex Ellis after the two big plays at the start of the 3rd was an absolute back breaker. If we scored to start the half, the outcome looks totally different.

He should get killed. He owns those calls and/or the guy he hired to make them who wasn't even coaching at the time. They had better learn from this.

#3 is the difference between a winning program and a losing program. WE surrendered everything by not scoring a touchdown there. That is on Butch.

That is what I told my wife when he decided to kick. You don't beat many good teams by kicking FG's. If you go for the TD and do not make it, OU would have 99 yards to go. That was a dumb call by Butch, IMO.

Something else I noticed about Butch during the game. When Tennessee made a bad play, missed the FG, he was on the sideline giving that "Fulmer clap". Made me sick. The team or a player makes a terrible play, there is nothing to be clapping about, tell tell what they did wrong. When it is deserved a good azz chewing never hurt a player, don't clap and smile. It make the coach look like a loser, IMO.

Just couldn't land the knockout punch. Some of that falls on the conservative play calling, some falls on the execution of the plays we call.

Coaches and players have to learn to win. Talent is in place to win a game like that. No other way around it.

Our offensive coaching philosophy was exposed in a major way. No adjustments, no passing scheme, fearful and tepid, no creativity, one-dimensional ...

Most people realize this is not just something coaches will correct. This is a fundamental problem in the OC position specifically and we are likely handcuffed until OC is replaced.
Butch's tepid decisions may be easier to correct, but poor scheming, no adjustments and vanilla play calling from the OC is not likely to change.

Top half, agreed.

Bottom half, do not agree.

IMO, there is simply no way to justify the field goal. Even if we don't make the TD, OU has to go over 99 yds and our Defense was still fresh at the point. And with the crowd noise in their own end zone to boot. Odds say go for it and Butch simply blew it.

#3 Screams "I don't trust my OL to get it done." And echoes to the rest of the team, "We're lucky to get this FG opportunity. We never know when we'll get this close again."

What he said is true. You really want to get the first points on the board and score off of a turnover. The bigger issue is not going to Hurd on 3rd down IMO

Jones should own his terrible mistake in game day coaching now since he is the captain of the ship. If he doesn't, his credibility is eroding with fans, donors and players. Everyone can see the problem with the OU game. Everyone!!!!!! Integrity is great but if you publicly pass the buck here, the erosion will begin, and the OU debacle will not go away. Also when it happens again, (see Vandy 13, Florida 14) and it will, it will be the kindling for a mighty conflagration! Put out the embers now and everyone will forgive and give a second chance.

Here is something that has bothered me, remember his first year end of game vs Vandy all we needed was a first down and they go under center and do not get the first down had to punt and lose the game. Well Saturday 3rd down on the goal line and once again they go under center. Why go under center, they are never under center. Stick with what you do which is spread, read option.

Butch deserves the heat. He has no faith in the offense. Evidence was the field goal instead of going for it. Most predicted us to lose, so why not? He refuses to accept responsibility for this loss. Even went as far in today's presser to say that OU didn't make any adjustments at halftime. I think we'll find out this year if it's all lip service. I think he'll get us to 8 or 9 wins a season, but no more.

Yet if a couple of plays are successfully executed we win anyways and the call is moot. I didn't agree with the call at the time but it is not the reason we lost

Every single coach in America does this. Every single one. They did it when Fulmer was coach and they still do it. This is irrelevant

Clay Travis was wrong when he wrote that Arkansas had the dumbest fans in America. Wow
