Butch is Building Us a Championship Program

Guy above has a good point. What if Bama picks off 3 of those 4 or 5 Dobbs threw right too them. Everyone would be wanting to run Jones out of town. Some still do.. It's all counterproductive to harp about it much right now. Butch will get his 4 years. Right now we're a football team that has managed to blow 4 games in which we had the lead in the 4th quarter. Should probably be 5-2 or 4-3 at worse but we're 3-4. I say let's see what they got for Kentucky. This staff is still in prove it mode and will be through next year.

Okay, you're a negavol.

Not going to compare AARP cards, but if you haven't been a Vols fan for over half a century, I got you beat. And if you have, who cares whether it's 50 years or 70, it's long enough to know better either way.

The game was close because we're that good. Some folks think so little of our team that they denigrate any team that we are competitive with. It's like a yardstick that grows and shrinks with our team; no other team is ever any good if we can beat them or hang tough with them through a game. They must suck.

What does that say about your opinion of the Vols? Hint: it's not good. You should reevaluate your optics.

We stood toe to toe with the #8 team in the country today. You can say they're a weak team all you like; not buying it.
Funny how every time people who actually know football voice an opinion people they hate Tennessee. Last time I checked I am a us citizen and a vet who can voice any opinion I feel. Bama IS NOT the eight best team in the nation. And yes years of being a fan matter because I know what Tennessee football really is when we have great coaches. Not coaches that try and use a DT/QB as a pocket passer. I love my Vols but don't like Butch. See the difference, if you can't go take a nap.

Even going 8-4 means THREE (3) of those wins are against total patsy programs. Add Vandy and Kentucky and that means 5 of those wins were against basically bottom feeder, nothing programs.

Is that really a reason to celebrate a 3rd yr head coach? Is that really accomplishing anything worth anything?

Is UT had Vandy's history of being a bottom feeder then maybe this would seem great.

What's happening with UT would NEVER be acceptable to any of the other major programs who are in the top ten of winning all time. Now, those programs have all gone through tough times but it is NEVER as acceptable as it is in Knoxville.

If losing but coming close is so "okay" with everyone then why the heck did Fulmer get canned? A guy who brought a National Championship and .750 winning %, played for UT and was more of aVFL than anyone could ever hope to be... couldn't even get two bad years before he was being pilloried and burned at the stake, yet people do backflips and somersaults to excuse a coach from Cincinnati.

You're one of these a-holes who have been saying the same thing for about 5 years running.

Al Golden is 28-22 and about to get whacked in Miami. Butch would have to go 13-5 in his next 18 games just to match that pathetic record. And some of you dolts love him. Unbelievable.

Lol. Compare the schedules of the teams both programs have played and there is a reason Holdn has a better record than CBJ. Plus, our program is improving wihile Miami got blasted 58-0 today by Clemson in front of 3,000 fans on their home filed.

Oh, don't stop there. Plenty of other folks of your mindset have openly said that Oklahoma sucks and Florida sucks and Bama sucks (just this evening they've been saying that) and Arkansas REALLY sucks, and Georgia is a nobody. So we've played absolutely no one of any value whatsoever and anything short of 12-0 is an embarassment and even going 12-0 is nothing to be proud of with this schedule, our coaches all suck and should be fired and none of our players are worth a damn.

I mean, you're only two or three breaths from joining some of your fellow negavols whole hog, why not just go for it?

It's simple. The fan base is scared of change. Therefore, they accept pretty much anything to avoid another coaching search.

Ridiculous. There HAS been change. Change for the better.

This team is light years better than what Jones inherited in 2013.

I am actually looking forward to more change, like winning the rest of our games, going to a quality bowl game, and being one of the contenders for the East next year.

Actually some people just don't understand football. I'm sorry you happen to fall into that category.

I've said this before, but year 4 is the year to judge Butch. Most coaches get three years, but our program was so beat down its taking 4.

If you can't see progress from 2013, you are blind.

And for the record, I would have given Fulmer another year or two.
