Butch is Building Us a Championship Program

When you look around and notice that a bunch of folks see something that you apparently can't, maybe that's the time to wonder what you're missing....rather than wonder what they're all missing.

Just saying....

Go Vols!
Dude, I'm not missing anything. We lost. We are 3-4 and your proud? Your ok with losing? I don't care how well we played, we still lost.

Playing well and progressing don't mean diddly if your still losing.

The giddiness that is being displayed here about a loss is...................**** I don't know.

You're one of these a-holes who have been saying the same thing for about 5 years running.

Al Golden is 28-22 and about to get whacked in Miami. Butch would have to go 13-5 in his next 18 games just to match that pathetic record. And some of you dolts love him. Unbelievable.

Golden is trending down whereas TN appears to be close to turning the corner. Am I a dolt if I look at anything other than W/L record?

No, Chatta, read more carefully. Didn't say I was proud because it was a close score. Proud of the guys because of how they played, the guts and maturity and strength and smarts they played with, not the score on the board. Woulda been equally proud of them if we'd succeeded in the final drive and won by 1 or 3. Because of HOW they played, not what the score was.

If you care about the players and the coaches and the future of the program, this makes sense to you. If you care only about yourself, it won't.

This program is moving in the right direction. No one is happy with the losses. But, this is the first time since 2006 that UT had a lead on Bama in the 4th quater . If that's not progress to you then you have no idea how long it takes to build a winner in the SEC.

got whacked 58-0 at a university with talent begging to commit. Try again! Vols have been within 1 score in every loss and have lead in every game.

Coaching changes have gone poorly for us because we have done a **** job of hiring coaches.

You're the typical Negavol fan aren't you?

Pregame:

We have no chance against Alabama with these sh*tty coaches. We lose by 21+

Postgame:

FAHR BUTCH JONES, WE LOST TO ALABUBBA!!! 1 POINT OR 50 A LOSS IS A LOSS. FAHR HIM TONIGHT SO WE CAN GET A GOOD COACH. DOES DOOLEY HAVE A BROTHER???

Until now. But you won't stop *****ing and moaning long enough to see how close we are to being Nationally relevant again. Did DOOLEY ever have us competitive against Florida, Alabama, and Georgia? At least now we can see the progress and see the improvement from year one and two until now. Jesus Christ, we could go 11-1 this year and half of you would call for Jones to be fired for the one loss. Grow up or cheer for another team who's coaching hire you approve of.

No. I like Tennessee, so I'll keep demanding that Tennessee make the changes needed to improve until it happens.

We're 3-4.
There are no moral victories.

But if you can't see the improvement in this team, you are consciously turning a blind eye toward it.

It's called trend analysis. Last three years for Al is 9-4, then 6-7, and now looking like maybe 6-6 this year. That's what you call a downward trend. Last three years for Butch is 5-7, 7-6, and looking like 8-4+bowl this year. That's what you call an upward trend.

Maybe they don't teach that in Italy. Don't you have a soccer game to watch?

We ****ing lost, we are 3-4 and everyone is awesomely proud? How does that even remotely sound right? Did we swap fan bases with some team from California that just formed a football program?

We were 0-1 today against a very good top 10 team that we lead late in the game. Quit your whining, crybaby!

...................**** I don't know.

That's right. You don't. You just don't get it. And until you start caring more about the players and coaches and the program than yourself, you never will.

They did us proud today. If you didn't feel that, you're supremely selfish.

Tough loss, but that last drive was just an OLine that was out of gas. Beyond proud of the vols. Only cried for 20 minutes this time.

Lol now volnation loves butch again. How fickle. Butch is still the same coach as he was against ok, fl, and ark. He isn't the coach to get us back to sec prominence. Call me negavol all you want, but I've been a fan longer than most of you sunshine pumper shave been alive. the game was only close because Bama isn't Bama from last year and they drop three sure ints from Dobbs.

As painful a step as it may be, it would be progress for Tennessee to win all the games they "should".

However, where the argument lies is to define which games are games Tennessee "should" have won.

Should they have beaten Oklahoma at home? Arkansas at home? Florida on the road?

I understand the sentiment that 8-4 won't look all that special considering that Missouri and South Carolina are absolute trash....something we didn't know before the season. Bowling Green is a more impressive win than those two and Vandy

How much time does he have/get? Serious question.

IMO...I think he gets to keep going as long as the team is still improving. As long as they do better next year, he should get to stay. Dooley went downhill & I was all for firing him. CBJ has the team improving each year. If he starts going the other way, then it will be time.

Agree, Bama has no passing game and it's unlikely that this score will ever be this close again unless Saban leaves.

I'm sorry, did you get your panties in a wad? Did your mommy pat you on the head and tell you she was proud of you when you struck out playing T-ball? I'm sure you got a participation trophy anyway. Bless your little heart.

Okay, you're a negavol.

Not going to compare AARP cards, but if you haven't been a Vols fan for over half a century, I got you beat. And if you have, who cares whether it's 50 years or 70, it's long enough to know better either way.

The game was close because we're that good. Some folks think so little of our team that they denigrate any team that we are competitive with. It's like a yardstick that grows and shrinks with our team; no other team is ever any good if we can beat them or hang tough with them through a game. They must suck.

What does that say about your opinion of the Vols? Hint: it's not good. You should reevaluate your optics.

We stood toe to toe with the #8 team in the country today. You can say they're a weak team all you like; not buying it.

Seems like they completed two passes in the go ahead drive where receivers made unbelievable catches. Their passing game look pretty good . We will win next year in Knoxville.
