This weekend. We can't get behind 3 scores before we decide to throw the ball down the field or call designed qb runs for dobbs. And we can't punt from the 33 or just hand them the ball back late in the game with a chance to win. I'm pumped we are were we are but we have sooooooo much talent on this team. We should have never fallen so far behind Uga, or uf, or app state for that matter. We've got to play to win!

I hate to say it but we play much better when we air it out. It's almost like we need to abandon the running game a little bit. Maybe use the pass to set up the run? Reverse psychology stuff.

Am I the only one who thinks Butch looks like Sgt. Carter from the Gomer Pyle show? It's a compliment, he was my favorite on-screen Marine other than Gunny Hartman and Animal Mother.

Our field position has been one of they keys to our success, and I don't recall butch ever punting from the 33, pin em deep every time u get the chance, very difficult for any team to have long drives against this defense.

Another stupid thread on Vol Nation. Do you really think "lack of balls" has anything to do with our slow starts? I mean, really?

Any way to hypnotize the players at the start of the game, making them believe it's the end of 3rd and are 21 points down... Do it again at 2nd half..

We abandoned the run in the second half last night and all it did was make our day harder.

Good lord man! It's always the same crap with you OP. Please try some original thought. BTW even the coaches know we need to start better. But it's not play calling that we are having issue with.

Why not...it's working beautifully so far
We are messing around with the law of averages. We keep this crap up and we will lose to someone like Missouri when we have no business losing to them. Tennessee cannot keep doing this crap. It is inevitable that we will lose a game or games because of it.

Early in the game yesterday we punted from inside the Uga 35. Daniel kicked it out of bounds and the ref spotted the ball at the 22. We basically netted 11 yards and gave up a scoring opportunity. They promptly drive down the field and score their first td.

IMO, you can't give the next two teams a 2 or 3 TD advantage. Especially A&M at their house. They have the defensives to stop us with that amount of points as a cushion. If you can't get up for these next two games, then you have no blood.

He took the Bulldogs balls away from them and is wearing them around his neck this week:eek:lol:
He also took their soul, for what it's worth......the soul of a castrated bulldog:pepper:

the play calling hasn't been the issue, overall. i don't like the run, run, run punt stuff either with the game on the line (and that doesn't mean i just want us to throw each down mind you....we can be creative in the run game, and or do some high % passes in those situations)...

but overall, the play calling has been pretty good game to game. i think players not executing (dropped passes, fumbles and penalties) have been the issue on offense, early in games, and our defenses inability to get off the field, not giving us more opportunities on offense.

i think for the most part, the coaching has been actually pretty good, save a few things that i just fundamentally don't like. personal preference. half time adjustments on defense have been really outstanding, special teams has been good again, even though we haven't had any big splash plays, we win the field position game most of the time.

i've been critical, but it's really only about a few things. all in all, i think they've done a really good job this year, if for no other reason, he's got these kids believing, and now they're delivering. at the end of the day, players are making plays, and they're being put in position to do it. it's translated to a 5-0 record this year.

just keep it going for as long as we can....

It was 3rd and 8 so not as egregious as you are making it out to be. Daniels has been great, but had a bad one there.

I think that is one of those 50-50 calls. Given that the D was 2-2 in stops to that point in a 0-0 game, I have no problem with the call there.

Don't recall us being that far in, regardless our first go ahead TD was a result of having the best punt coverage team in the country, and we should utilize that weapon when we have to.
