He said you all impacted the game and asked for us fans to remain positive! He said we impact recruiting and the morale of our team

Well...if true...then the "BOOOS" while the Team headed into halftime certainly worked...

That's a false conclusion.

The team deserves better than they get, especially from VN. Coach speaks the truth...who wants to play in front of whiney babies who are never happy? The loudest idiots are ruining what should be one of our biggest advantages in recruiting.

I'm sure we impact morale. Some of us may also impact morals - but I am not sure that is a good thing.

We fans are off to a rough start this year... too much drinking, fighting, and lack of discipline. I do see a glimmer of hope that we can turn this thing around.

In spite of the boos. It's silly to think booing youngsters is a way to motivate. It's a great way to show recruits how they will be treated if they have a bad half, even if the boos were intended towards the coaching staff.

I know, I know all the boo birds paid their money and expect a quality showing and have the right to boo if they want to, at the same time the future of the program maybe impacted in a negative manner if this continues.

Let the fans of the opposition boo us, and Loyal Vol Fans boo them. No need to do the dirty work for the dirty gators.

Do what you want. I never "boo" the Vols. I will analyze and discuss strategy and stuff on this forum, but booing my team won't happen.

We ABSOLUTELY have some bratty loud mouth fans...(many on this site)! They like to be heard but not seen. They seem to know all the problems and "think" they have all the answers surrounding our team. Pure ignorance in a lot of ways. Butch, assistant coaches, and these players have invested so much...and deserve more from our fan base...especially through bad times. I mean it's easy to be the teams "biggest fans" when things are good! Like it or not...there will still be disappointments! We expect/want loyalty from our coaches...we need to demonstrate the same! Don't think for a second that in today's world of recruiting that recruits don't see that! It shows a conditional and hostile fan base! Go Vols!!!

Butch, you get paid big bucks to win football games. Just keep winning and the fans will respond.

We are fans. Fans are passionate. Fans aren't supposed to be rational. We are fans. Football is a source of entertainment for us fans. When we aren't entertained we may boo or leave early.

Get over it man! Just worry about coaching.

There isn't one fan base in the country that doesn't boo when their team is sucking ass. If there is, it's a fan base that expect to lose or conditioned that their team will lose. So the expectations are low.

Not at UT, Butcho, expectations are high. You helped create that. Thank you! Especially when you have promised, yes promised, other years after losses that things will change and get better and will win. You, with your own words, have done that.

I ask you....please coach and stay focused...we will continue to be fans...you will know how we feel by our responses...

No for real bigtime recruit would let idiot fans dictate where they go. Why? Because all bigtime programs have stupid ass irational fans. Be glad you have the fans Butch. You could be at Vandie with absolutely NO support.

Besides, when the fans boo at Florida and a recruit had doubts about attending Tennessee, it wasn't from the boos. They were probably like damn do I really wanna come here and play for this **** (that they saw in the first half)?

Leave the fans alone Butch. Please.
