What a miserable way to think. The idea that we should have beat a team, even though we didn't, deserves a raise and extension? What the hell was Butch hired for, moral victories? It doesn't matter if his teams actually win, just as long as they could have? I don't buy into that line of thinking.

I wonder if this is what you would tell the recruits considering our school to play football? Answer that! I've seen so many negative threads about our team. There has been more negative than positive on Volnation. Thank GOD you Negavols don't run the program or a part of the program. You are cancer and you would run off recruits in a heartbeat. Go Vols! We're going bowling! That means one extra game I get to watch before I hibernate till fall!

Fire Dave Hart before you even think about re-assessing Butch's contract. Hart has been screwing us over with awful contracts. He, more than anyone, deserves to go.

Or, I can continue to cheer for my team and hold the guy getting paid millions to coach them accountable. This "you have to support Butch" mentality is idiotic. There was a Vols football team before him. There will be a Vols football team after him. He is not the team. I want him to succeed because it's what is best for the Vols, but I'm not giving him a free pass. Guy still has a job to do, and he gets paid handsomely to do it.

Iowa is undefeated..and NT scored 16 points and had 356 vs them..but keep on hating its what you do well

You and your ilk create the vitriol by attacking anyone who has an opinion that differs from your own. Instead of constructive conversation, the term "nega-vol" is immediately trotted out. A bit of a misnomer, imo. I want what's best for the Vols, while you seem more concerned about Butch Jones. So which of us is really the "nega-vol"?

I think the raise CBJ received last year should have been given to him this year. Does he deserve another one? I don't think so. He's beaten bgsu, western Carolina, ug, uk, usc, and nt, all teams that we are suppose to win. Still winless against the sec west, and Florida. The last I checked we are 6-4, not 9-4 and I'd seriously think twice before we start claiming wins against mizz (who he's never beat) and Vandy. I don't think he should be fired but I'd wait and see what the team does next year before I'd give him another raise.

If UT beats Missouri and Vandy with ease then I guess he deserves a raise -- I am sick of worrying about losses to teams like this

Nope I post facts about how the team is improving and you guys have nothing but negativity..you can't argue that this program is worse than when Butch took over..we all want championships but we were further down player wise than many think..just look at the improving offense this year

All things considered, why are you assuming victories we don't have yet? I certainly hope we win out, but it's not guaranteed. Let's let the games happen before we declare them wins.

And as much as I enjoy the recruiting success, and I really do, top 5 classes mean little when compared to winning an SEC title. Right now, we can't even win the East against a coach in his first year at Florida. There is certainly much improvement still to be made.

The Chancellor/President at UT will decide if Coach Jones gets a bonus/extension depending on the next two games. Win both and he'll get a bonus and an extension at least for 3 more years.

because I'm positive and not negative..Florida had a terrible coach and good players..we had a terrible coach who lost almost 75% of his recruiting classes..now we are catching up to other team's rosters thanks to the hard work of our coaches..despite tradition and facilities, our coaches have to convince players who probably grew up cheering for rivals to come to school here..he deserves a raise on his recruiting wins alone

I'm sorry, but who has argued the program has grown worse or stayed the same under Butch? Now you're just making up arguments. Are you trolling on purpose?

What's been stated by me is he doesn't deserve an extension. He wasn't hired to maintain status quo of us sucking. He was hired to improve the team. Why does he deserve an extension for doing his job? Based on his losses this season, I see reasons for concern. Why tie ourselves into a big buyout prematurely? It's exactly that thinking that has hurt us previously.

Coaches were beating down our door when Dooley was fired. Get over yourself. you're having illussions of grandeur. Butch accepted the challenge, and is progressing. You and your ilk fail to realize that.
