My question is, what happened to Kiffin? Last week, he's spotted in Knoxville, and considered to be "plan B" for Mike Hamilton.

I still think Hamilton's working diligently on "plan A," but it looks like Davis and Leach are next in line. Is Kiffin even in the mix anymore?

I amazed all the people who commented on the article who think the UT job isn't better than the UNC job.

Maybe Davis knows that this program is going to take a complete reconstruction from the ground up and doesn't want to go through that process.

He's got a pretty good program coming together over in NC. I don't see how he steps away from that and the potential that it holds to a complete basket case, shipwreck that we have here in Knoxville.

(not saying that it isn't a better job - it is - but its going to take a lot of work to get us back where we should be. That's a tall order for any new coach.)

I can see that but to say the job is better than UT just isn't accurate.

I don't think things are as bad as they seem. If UT can get a qb that will cure a lot.

Kelly and Leach would almost be equal to me with Kiffen following them. Reason being is Kelly and Leach have a track record of winning where Kiffen has nothing really. Not saying Kiffen would be a bad hire just stating the obvious. Recruiting wise Kiffen might be the better of the three.

who ever is tennessee new coach next year needs to remove the players names off their uniforms and make them earn them because the way the players are playing they dont deserve it.and if the players play really good than i say put their names back on:bash:

Alrighty then...I guess its about time to scratch Davis's name off the ole list and move on to the next best coach and that would be Mike Leach who I feel could turn us around quicker than probably anybody...Kiffin I am still not sold on yet...Just got an uneasy feeling about him...Might be another Ron Zook....Oh the horror

Butch Davis will be the next coach at UT if he wants to be. However should he decide against it there will be no Gruden or any combination of Kiffens in Knoxville unless it is to visit friends,family or the Women's BB Hall Of Fame.

I read on a UNC board that UT has offered Davis the job at a rate of 4 million per year...any truth?

how about he develops them into SEC caliber football players. I doubt the name really makes that big of a difference. It's what you teach them on the practice field and in game situations. It's all about discipline...this may be a start, but it will take a heck of a lot more than just the removal of their nametags

Yes, a QB would change a lot for this program but it looks like entire program has issues. The new coach is going to have a major rebuilding project all around the program.

A new coach will solve a good portion of the problems outright. Fulmer has been a poison to this program.

I say take the T off their helmets and make them earn that. The T is more important than any one player's name.
