Butch coaches scared. Has a loser mentality trying to coach not to lose and in turn results in loses. In order to win we'll have to far and away out-talent other teams.

Can we get opposing fans to stop voting in this poll?

No way that 25% of our fans are dumb enough to support this guy after seeing his work against Oklahoma and Florida.

I don't think he gets fired this year. I'm not for firing him yet. I don't have faith he can achieve the level of success we expect though.

I support Butch, but not the OC and DC! We need Butch for recruiting purposes! We just need an OC and DC that know how to coach football!

You can dislike him all you want but you can't axe him now, and I don't think there is anyone available at year's end that would be an "improvement".

Kinda stuck with what ya got.

Unfortunately I agree with this, at least the fact we can't fire him this year.

Only bright side is with the improved recruiting the cupboard should be full for the next HC. Too bad we'll have to wait another couple of years to make that change and hire someone who will know how to use the talent.

I agree. We do need to go ahead and replace the AD with someone who won't hurt everything he touches.

I am as upset and irritated as anyone. I couldn't go to sleep after the game because of my frustration. But, we cant afford to start over again because of monetary and other considerations. Butch is a great recruiter and eventually we will have enough talent to overcome his lack of game management skills ( which are real) . We will win game despite his sometimes moronic moves cause we will overwhelm the other team as we did in the Fulmer years. I remember that several top coaches said no to this job, mostly cause of the shoddy way Fulmer was treated. We need stability more than a magic-bullet fix. Look at how Malzahn has blown up at Auburn. He was my first choice for UT- you never know what will happen.

This is a really good post. The only flip-side for me is that when the National publicity is sending such a strong message that Butch has those game management skill limitations (and he hasn't shown that he can learn from his errors), then the recruitment will fall off. I am truly pulling for a new AD at this point, so that the next hire (whenever that is) will not be for Hart to have anything at all to do with.

Nothing about changing coaches will gain ground till the end of 2016. UT admin is in no way ready to pull the trigger. The buyout and new hire would set us back 6 years!
