The only good thing I can say about Jones is that he is a great recruiter. His game time management, on the other hand, is not much better than Dooley.

Butch will get his 4 th year UT cant fire him yet. The staff has issues teaching players how to catch , throw , block , Tackle and I think they have trouble spotting the better players on the team. The players themselves are good and play hard they need a better game day coach.
I have a feeling this is as good as it gets with Butch his offense just isn't very good.

I respect Jones's work ethic and that made me all the more hopeful that he would be the man to return us to contender status, but disturbing trends are disturbing trends.

Wow. We're paying Butch more than they are paying kingsbury

Exactly, we should offer $5 mill for Gruden and the hire alone will pay off after a big bowl game in season 1

If you really go in depth, more students would also come to UTK if we had an NFL caliber coach and it would pay off

If Alabama could do it we can definitely do it

Even the most positive fans have to have their doubts.

1. Don't go for 2 after the score.

2. Get the ball up 6, the whole world knows we are about to run it 3 times and punt. Wtf was the 3rd down QB draw? Just pathetic, at least give it to Hurd or Let Dobbs have a read option.

3. Give up a 4th and 14 for a touchdown. That's not even the worst part. YOU RUSH 3 AND LEAVE A QB SPY WHAT IN THE FACKING FACK.

4. Call a timeout after an offsides penalty. 1st and 15 after a penalty and you can't get a call in, and waste a timeout?!

5. Spike the ball with a timeout left andtake a penalty just to take the timeout anyway to avoid a 10 second runoff?

This loss is absolutely inexcusable and is 100,000 % on Butch Jones. Just an atrocity of a fourth quarter, once again.

In life, you almost always get what you pay for. We went the value route last time hiring Butch. But that was always the wrong decision. You can pay 10 million per year for a coach and it be a good investment so long as you end up winning

I still support him, but we've seen enough to notice a trend. He had as good/similar (or better) talent last year and this year to beat Fla and didn't. Same with Oklahoma this year. He lost all 3 games. Usually, in tight games coaching will win or lose you the game. It has lost us all 3 games.

I'm waiting until next year to make my final decision, but I'm not happy nor should anyone be right now. However, I think that if you replaced him after this year it wouldn't be good. He has done well in recruiting. It'll be put up or shut up next year.

All we wanted was to beat someone of significants changes are that won't happen and we are headed to a Notting bowl and the same or worse record.

The fact that Jones is pissing away all this talent is terrible and should be fired

He can win me back but it will take something big... like having a 14 point lead against a quality opponent at the end of 3 and winning by 21+.

His hyperconservatism HAS TO GO.

All of you who think this coaching staff can get to 8-4 need to watch some game film. C'mon, man! Our schedule is brutal, and every SEC coach has the blueprint to beat this uber conservative and predictable staff. CAK has a better playbook.

Yes. We were in position to win. If we made that fg this thread wouldn't exist

Yes it would. A win doesn't excuse poor play calling. We won't win more than a few lucky ones here and there with that type of mind set.

Again, I want to petition for a thumbs down option on here so these posters see how many feel like they are wrong.

I have no use for a coach who demands his players give their all for Tennessee but doesn't do it himself.

I agree with this. How do you expect your players to walk through walls for you when you hang them out to dry after they've given everything they have.
