We had a bus crash in Huntsville 10 years ago, 4 children died. Lawsuits were filed against the school system, bus company, DOT, concrete company that supplied the concrete on the overpass and anyone else with money. Dont know how they ended up.
In this case, lawsuits will be difficult for anyone except the dri er and company that hired him, because the accident was a direct result of the drivers neglect.
Good job Coach.
I think the major difference with the Lee High crash was that it was another vehicle that hit the bus and not the fault of the bus driver. They never found the driver or vehicle who clipped the bus and sent it off the ramp. If they want to sue for damages in this case, they may have a good case. This also happened 10 years and 1 day after the anniversary of the Lee High tragedy. All the families are probably reliving a lot of stuff in the aftermath of all that's happened.
Butch is exactly the kind of coach I want the University of Tennessee to have at the helm of our Football program.
These are the kind of very fine young men he brings to our program and I for one am much more concerned with that, along with graduation rates, etc. than being THE champion every year. Too many coaches these days are willing to accept thugs, and "thuggish behavior"from players if it means winning an extra game.
I don't see Butch as that kind of coach, and I'm darned proud of him for it.
Thanks Butch...and Thanks to those players who were able to take time out for those kids and their families.
