I realize Malzahn already had talent in place but I'm not sure we will ever be able to keep up with a team like Auburn. We are lightyears behind. Frustrating.

Think it's a safe bet with Malzahn getting "his" players, everybody will be playing catch up with them for a while. Our best Ds ever would struggle to stop that kind of rushing scheme. With a little luck in recruiting they could easily end up as potent as mid 90s Nebraska.

You mean the overall top class, or a better class than Auburn? The latter yes, the former, not a chance.
Not a chance? Saying Vandy won't have a chance would be correct but we are currently the #2 ranked team in recruiting..saying we don't have a chance is ignorant

Malzahn was only gone one season. He already has 'his' players.

Just gotta keep recruiting.

If we continue signing classes like this one, we'll be elite by 2016.

Yeah and what's so funny is when we played Auburn a lot on here (who do not know football) wanted to fire our DC. Unreal people. Missouri is suppose to be good on D and so is Alabama. And Auburn put up a lot of points on each of them. And they have a lot more talent than we do right now.

If you know what these resemble than you get my point.

It's not all about the "talent". It's really all about coaching and schemes.

To me, what I took away from the crazy game was that all the people saying go back to a pro-style offense and that a read-option offense can't work need to rethink that stance

Of course not...but Auburn had a ****load more talent, a lot of them Malzahn was familiar with and had coached/recruited.

you're basing this based on there offensive performances. defensively there's not that much difference between the two programs. i wouldn't push the panic button just yet. when we are able to put more explosive players on the field offensively I think you'll find hope!

At one time they were light years behind us...just shows what 10 years of neglect and incompetence can do...
