I believe that given proper time to recruit that our coaches will be excellent recruiters. They have gotten us in the mind of several 4 and 5 star prospects this year when only given a month and a half basically. Remember he came in December 7th and then dead week hit two weeks later. The coaching staff has gotten us in on quite a few big players and I believe given time we will have some excellent recruiting classes in the next couple of years. I know I will probably be bashed for saying play the waiting game but I really like this coaching staff and I am looking forward to what they can do over the next couple of years.

I totally agree---I really think Butch and his staff have done well considering he came in late for this recruiting class. I was a little disappointed on Lawson, but all in all I think the future looks bright!

A bunch of swings.......and a bunch of misses. Their batting average sucks but at least they seem to be swingin for some fences.

Because they've had a month and a half to try and build relationships with kids that have had relationships with other coaches for over a year.

The '14 class will be top 10.

Um, isn't that the nature of recruiting for every team? Notre Dame will sign one of the top classes this year and look at how kids they offered and missed on.

There are excuses this year. There will be no excuses next year. Recruiting is the lifeblood of a program. If he doesn't elevate the talent on his roster on both sides of the ball, we'll be cheering on a new coach in three years and Dave Hart won't be making the hire.

However, I am impressed with the tireless work ethic of these coaches. Recruiting is easy for the likes of Saban and Miles and Richt. The only way to win some of these battles is to outwork them. The staff seems to be determined to do that.

I've been incredibly impressed by their recruiting. Now, let's hope we can get some surprise wins next year to encourage 2014 recruits that Tennessee is a good place to be.

It's pretty damn simple. We win 8 or more games next year, we'll reel in some of those that got off the line . We look like total sh** again, and nobody will bother with us.

I don't understand why everyone is talking about how this year's recruiting class is down. I'm pretty impressed with what we have accomplished. So we didn't get the 5* we recruited for two months. Just being in contention for D Green and C Lawson tells a lot about this staff. I'm all ready hearing great things about next years recruits. Relax and enjoy the ride, this is the most excitement I have had concerning UT football in years. CBJ is a great recruiter, coach, and man. GBO and Go Vols.

We were in it for Green before CBJ got here. Kudos for getting in on Lawson. But keep in mind that 2nd place is the first loser.

I had a feeling this was coming. :)

Hey InVOLuntary..........how you been,

Not trying to be an arse, I like what CBJ has done so far, but many on Volnation want to give him the keys to the world and he has yet to prove anything.

The same excuses we use to cover for him in recruiting are exactly the same issues they have at the Barn, and we ARE TENNESSEE and should be better that this.

lawson is only one recruit, but I am not yet willing to proclaim him the guru of recruiting either :hi:

Been great. Very busy with work right now.

You know how I felt about this hire. No offense to CBJ but I thought it was a risky hire. However, I've been impressed with his work ethic so far. Hes had a short time table to work this year. His excuses will be gone next year. I think we'll continue to see us play the bridesmaid role until we win a little. If we win all the games we'll be favored to win next year and win one or two we're not and go to a bowl I think recruits will gain respect for him and given the amount of quality of legacy players next year, we could have a great class.

How bout you? Still comforting people in their time of need?

This....I already feel better going into next season. This time we actually have a coach and not a lawyer who's daddy was a big time coach so he automatically assumed he would be the same. Just being honest. Don't even get me started on sunseri. Those close games we were in last season,I think we win atleast a couple of those with Butch&co.

I am pretty much where you are on the issue's, I like what I see so far, but this staff is still unproven and recruits know this. If we win next year a couple we shouldn't and all we should, Recruiting WILL pick up.

I am willing to give him a chance to prove himself (he is a far cry better than previous staff) but I am still waiting on next year....I am guessing that is what recruits do this year.......... yet if we get Bell and Ford, I will give CBJ his props...

Oh, and yes still at the job... will be there till someone does the same for my family I suppose... how bout you?

Still doin my thing. Having people problems. Can't seem to hire anybody with a work ethic. Would have thought in this economy there would be some good folk out there needing employment.
