I wouldn't even hire Harbaugh. He's finished 3rd, 3rd and 4th in division. At $9 million/year.

Maybe Meyer, but only if we have a QB that can run. Besides Urban, the rest of the leagues coaches are 2nd-tier at best.

SEC doesn't have 1 doormat team like Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Rutgers, Maryland or (6-6: a big year) Purdue.

So we fire a guy who owns the B10, and hire a guy who (at the moment) is a 2nd or 3rd tier coach there?

Where are Fulmer and Manning? Crickets.

Are you really making this thread in an attempt to defend Botch in anyway? If you’ve paid attention to his 5 years here, then you know the assload of games we’ve lost by dumb coaching errors. His offense would fit us great and would be very entertaining compared to Botch’s horrible offensive.

This is textbook apples to oranges. Going 6-6 with Purdue talent (Average ~72 ranking over the last 4 years) isn't comparable in any way to playing Big 10 mid-tier teams with top 10 talent.

Absolutely not.
Didn't like his hire from day 1.
But he owned Big 10.
See my point?

What's Butch's SEC record?

I'll hang up and listen, Jimmy.

Bro everyone has failures. Butch didn't own the Big 10 Josh Dobbs and UT speed did. Every coach has weaknesses and faults.

I'm in the mindset that no matter the coach you have to show me something before I crown you UT's savior.

Butch did not play any good teams from the Big Ten. If he would have played the likes of Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Penn State he would have lost miserably.

Butch beat big ten teams with bigger, faster, and stronger football players. Brohm beat 6 teams with pretty poor talent.

Not a huge fan of either guy. But not a fair comparison.

He owned mid level B10. Probably 2016 team(Dobbs) coulda handled all of them except OSU,but he was such a gameday tirefire we never found out.

Have you seen Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and Ole Miss play this year?

The SEC is awful. If the top 4 coaches in the Big 10 were here, they'd be the 2-5 coaches in the conference.

1) Saban
2) Meyer
3) D'Antoni
4) Franklin
5) Harbaugh
6) Malzahn
7) Smart

That's about how they'd stack up at this point.

How do you just jump Malzahn like that with all of them....Smart I would argue over Franklin at this point but I get it he doesn't have much resume to show HC experience. Malzahn gets the credit with Cam for the Auburn national title and he took them to another national title against FSU that they lost at the very end. That's the only descrepency I he though....otherwise I agree with all you said.

pretty sure Brohm lost to Butch while at Western Kentucky, or was that Dooley who beat him?

Tennessee and Purdue are not equivalent jobs. At all

Brohm and Butch both brought a team to Columbia. It wasn't hard to see which one was better, regardless of our performance, Purdue was far better and is deservedly going bowling.
