I know JC missed the open t/e for an easy td,
I know we could have qb snick a td since we had 3 yds prior on same play yet ran it up the gut twice with Hardesty
I know our offense lost the game for our defense,
I know Jones should have never been on the field yesterday,

but,

Should the defense keep it close next week and our offense doesn't turn it over,

this would be possibly the biggest upset in college
football history, not just for the Vols.

I for one am frustrated too but I'm not going to throw in the towel.

I will say that Kiffin has to replace Crompton though if his play doesn't improve because never in my many years following the Vols have we just relied on a struggling qb to stay in the game, never.

A good positive, we had some open receivers. Jones and Stocker were both wide open for TDs. Unfortunately...ah...I don't have to say it....

I wasn't looking at the situation too negatively until I heard CLK comments after the game. I was hoping CLK was keeping the playbook hidden for the Florida game, but he let us know he was just coddling Crompton with his play calling. It is alarming that you have to coddle a senior quarterback playing an unranked opponent in a home game the way you'd expect to treat a freshman quarterback in an away game against a top ten opponent.

UT will have to hold UF to 10-14 points to win. I don't see that happening. But if it did, it would be a HUUUUUGE upset.

In order for us to beat Florida, there HAS to be a QB change. I know Stephens is just as bad as Crompton, but Crompton is playing with NO confidence right now and that's not what you need when you go into the swamp. If we get one dimensional against Florida, they will eat us alive.

while im frustrated with #8, i was fairly happy with our ability to run the football.....before we got stupid at QB and could not complete a pass to the orange team and UCLA packed the box. i was at a loss as to why we had receivers on the field who had not practiced a ton yet (#4 and #6). the o-line looked good in run blocking most of the time but pass blocking was a little shoddy and this contributed to #8 looking very uncomfortable in the pocket. that said, im not off the bandwagon and will not be. they will get it fixed...this year or next...but they will get it fixed. im 100% behind our team and staff!!! go Vols!

i do know the names, but i prefer to use jersey numbers until the players earn their names back.

The problem is JC only looks at 1 receiver and I mean stares his ass down. If someone is out of position why throw it? Last play of the game in the dirt. The experiment should be over .

One thing we did do well was manage the game clock. We had the ball for all but maybe 2 minutes of the 4th qtr. We can build on time of possession and dramatically limit the scoring opportunities UF has on us.

So, a positive I took from the game was clock management and although our offense is inept, our defense will keep us in EVERY game.

I'm most interested in what this staff does from here. Last year the staff took a bad situation and made it a monumental quagmire of garbage level failure. Does this staff play rebuilding year football and try to win a few games where they can? or do they try and force crompINTon to play football like a big boy.
