Bryant plays Mike. I don't even think Al Wilson could get on the field ahead of Jumper if Butch has anything to do with it.
How dare Booker read an article on Rocky Top Insider, and link it here? How dare he? In retrospect, I'm sure even the he will agree that he must be stupid.
The Big Orange Comissars have put RTI on the non-sanctioned list, as of two weeks ago. It is fake media subversive in nature to the 1000 year reign of dear leader. Glorious subservient Erik Ainge of "Jones or Die" radio show just reported Butch recruited 9 5*-one of which is a 6'9" QB eligible to play against the lowly one-celled flatulent gamecocks next saturday- while in Memphis along with diverting the Mississippi River in order to build a new and better pyramid on top of the old one. The pyramid will stand for 10,000 10,000 years to strike fear into future generations of the vile dotard Chip Kelly's inbred, cross-eyed and misshapen progeny. While there the brilliant and studiously handsome father of our football program, Butch Jones made 100 virgins faint while bowling a 300 before playing a round of golf. He was 39 under par with 10 holes in one.
OP will start listening closely to Ainge most vociferously tomorrow morning in the benevolent state re-education program.

You are calling someone stupid? It's EVERYthing, not EVERthing
It's the great equalizer![]()
People have been pointing this stuff out for a while now. And when anyone here pointed it out, they were mocked and the recruiting rankings by year were used as a response.
The 3rd rated class isn't the 3rd rated class if 35% of the class is gone.
This also doesn't include the amount of people who are still around, but are not contributing at the level that was expected (ex. Dillon Bates).
All schools have this, but it's been more of a problem at Tennessee.
Am I allowed to try to stay on topic, or do I need to call someone stupid instead?
I think Butch's recruiting has been overrated. His best class was loaded with Vol legacies, which was a smart move, but doesn't make Butch a great recruiter. He was the beneficiary of good timing, being in position to recruit the children of former players who just happened to be highly regarded. Unfortunately, more than a few of those players haven't panned out, which is bad for everyone.
Also, Butch's classes have typically been more quantity than quality. Even this year before the decommitments, the average commit rating in the 247 composite - for whatever it's worth - was the lowest of any class in the top 10, and among the lowest in the top 20. For example, Tennessee has - had? - only two players in the composite top 100, Cade Mays and Greg Emerson. To be fair, two is certainly better than most schools, but Bama, Georgia, and Florida often have quite a few, and even more in the top 250.
Butch's recruiting often looks good on paper, but I don't think it holds up under scrutiny. Now, let's get back to calling each other stupid.
I see everyone is a grammar Nazi. Congratulations my friends you are correct, my grammar is not perfect (Or even close)
My argument is why are we talking about the other classes? Did he not mention the 2014 and 2015 classes? The OP said 40% have transferred out. But according to the quote that many of you are referencing he addresses that some were academically ineligible and some were kicked off the team. That is by definition not a transfer. So its still wrong. The OP links the article but comments on 40% of butch's players. He does not qualify his own statement therefore he is exaggerating what the article is actually saying. Thats my point.
I actually said "40% of your TOP players". As in, your best, the ones that count, the jewels of your classes, etc. As in, the 2014, 2015 recruiting classes...
The 2014-2015 classes were the ones everyone touts as evidence that he is the next Urban Meyer of recruiting. But the point is, his recruiting ability is a paper tiger. Yes. He brings them in. But they don't stay. So what is the point of bragging that he is an excellent recruiter?
He also signs these large classes with like 4-5 four star players, and maybe 1 five star. Then loads up with 3 stars to add shear numbers to pump the class up. But then the 4 and 5 star players transfer out or get kicked off. Leaving the majority of our roster full of 3 stars.
He is the epitome of a used car salesman.
You're mad because you came on here throwing out a comment about an article you didn't even read, referencing my words that you didn't even comprehend, and stuck your foot in your mouth while defending your dear leader.
At this point, some of you people defend this man like he is some sort of deity or political leader. It's insane. You can't even bring yourselves to admit he is a horrible coach. By the numbers. By the eye test. By the roster management. By his ability to keep young players under his thumb. By most measurable things, he is NOT a good coach. He is turning out to be WORSE than Derek Dooley. If he stays long enough (God help us), he will eclipse Derek Dooley is most ways. He already has actually. Derek Dooley never got shut out at home 41-0....
