We take about 25 players a year?

5 years now?

32/125 is close to 25%, but dont let facts stop you.

Didn't even read it did you. lol.

Here. I'll help you since you're lazy.

"Tennessee pulled in huge classes in 2014 and 2015, so attrition from those classes were expected. But of the 62 players brought in from those two classes alone, 22 players have now transferred from Tennessee. That means 35.5 percent of the players in those classes have transferred, and that doesn’t include three more players who were kicked off or deemed academically ineligible.

If you include those three, those two classes have an attrition rate of 40.3 percent."

Those were his two big timer classes.

Being a good recruiter is absolutely a huge asset in being a college football coach. At some point it becomes like being a QB with a cannon arm. Hey, that's awesome, but you need to be able to hit open receivers with that arm.

Alvin Kamara said good thing NO ONE ever transfers from Bama.

Stupid thread. Stupid fanbase apparently.

Did you actually read the article? Obviously not based on your response. He was only accounting for the 13-15 classes. We've lost 32 out of 87 players, and that's only accounting for transfers. That doesn't include players who were academically ineligible or kicked off the team like Sawyers or Paulk.

LOL... you make it sound like 40% of the top players have transferred out. its 40% of ALL players not "top" players.

Many of those who transferred were probably being recruited over. Yes there are some that make you shake your head but typical for all programs.

On the surface the figures to be much higher than other schools. The question here is why are they leaving?

If any team loses 40% of their players that is noteworthy and just by law of averages there are talented players leaving the team. And that number will jump higher again this year.

There is literally no better moment for message boards than when a poster calls someone stupid while having multiple grammar errors in their own post.

I've said from the start his attrition rate will be one of his most important indicators that he's got us on the right track. You have to be willing to trim the fat when necessary. However, there is such a thing as taking too many projects and too many players with injuries. Butch has done just that. A good chunk of his players have failed to develop and his higher rated guys have transferred/washed out more than one would expect. Being a good recruiter alone isn't enough. He's got to learn to take that talent, develop it and BUILD a team out of it. Given the way he's built this team, he seems more focused on offering the young guys playing time, accepting a mediocre product on the field while seemingly ignoring the development aspect of his veteran players. It seems we've had a thin SR class every year Butch has been HC. Just doesn't bode well for a continually "young" team when there is very little leadership from your seniors--namely because they are so few in number...

Yeah. Recruiting doesn't matter when 40+% of your top players transfer out.

LOL... you're not considering, that ALL of Jones' recruits are top players to begin with OR he never would have recruited them AND since HE recruited them then are they not ALL champions of life from the get go, right ? OR, are YOU saying that THESE "40%" are failures in life IF Jones a) both recruits them and b) is unable to retain them in HIS program for at least 3 years; or, are you saying that they are only champions of life IF they are in Jones' program (but that they can't be champions of life in some other program)??

Yeah.....brainstorm, I don't even have to look to know Blake Barnett transfered out of Bama and I know a DB left and played for UGA his senior year, (McKinley?), and I'm sure there are others. Like many, just post anything without knowing what you are talking about. Kamara himself checked out....LMAO.

I don't think CBJ has clarified the length of time necessary at UT to qualify for a COL trophy.

This isn't a self servicing attack post, I don't know what is. It's amazing how people will take a statistic like this and automatically mold it to support their agenda. You have no earthly knowledge of why these men left the program, this no better than Fake News. Again, price and value are two different things.......you think your getting value from a low price, regardless of the outcomes.

I read the article and here are my findings
2013 2-6
2014 3-5
2015 5-3
2016 4-4
2017 0-2

2013-2016 Never finished higher than 3rd in the SEC East.

2017 On pace to replicate that same futility

How dare Booker read an article on Rocky Top Insider, and link it here? How dare he? In retrospect, I'm sure even the he will agree that he must be stupid.

The Big Orange Comissars have put RTI on the non-sanctioned list, as of two weeks ago. It is fake media subversive in nature to the 1000 year reign of dear leader. Glorious subservient Erik Ainge of "Jones or Die" radio show just reported Butch recruited 9 5*-one of which is a 6'9" QB eligible to play against the lowly one-celled flatulent gamecocks next saturday- while in Memphis along with diverting the Mississippi River in order to build a new and better pyramid on top of the old one. The pyramid will stand for 10,000 10,000 years to strike fear into future generations of the vile dotard Chip Kelly's inbred, cross-eyed and misshapen progeny. While there the brilliant and studiously handsome father of our football program, Butch Jones made 100 virgins faint while bowling a 300 before playing a round of golf. He was 39 under par with 10 holes in one.

OP will start listening closely to Ainge most vociferously tomorrow morning in the benevolent state re-education program.
